Last month, we attended a chic baby shower for our dear friend, Stephanie, at The Crooked Knife. A baby shower styled in various shades of blue with white accents is the perfect way to welcome a new baby boy. We are excited to share the shower with you.
Stephanie recently moved to Florida, but was excited to celebrate this milestone with her girlfriends in New York City. Our friend, Amanda, helped her plan the party. In NYC, it can be challenging to find a friend or family member with an apartment large enough to host 15-20 guests for brunch. We often recommend choosing a restaurant with a large private room. On the plus side, it can be significantly less work than an at-home event. Best of all there are no dishes to clean up at the end!
Stephanie and Amanda invited their guests to the Crooked Knife through Facebook. This restaurant serves American fare and is great for groups.
Amanda used shades of blue and white to decorate the room. She filled the room with baby blue, pearly white and slate gray decor. Amanda framed our table with blue balloons and placed blue and white hydrangea inside mason jars. She also sprinkled blue confetti on the table and placed jellybeans inside blue baby bottles. Blue and white straws also added the perfect baby boy touch to our water glasses.

Guests sipped on mimosas and dined on Eggs Benedict, French Toast and Truffle Shuffle Burgers. The Crooked Knife offers a bottomless brunch option for $42, which includes an entree and limitless bloody mary’s and/or mimosas for two hours.
the perfect shot
Stephanie purchased adorable floral garlands for her guests. We highly recommend adding Photo Booth props to every party. While purchases from Etsy will easily run in the $50 range, the memories you make with them will be worth so much more. If you have time and want to save money, we suggest buying the digitals. If you are low on time, you can purchase ready-made props at a higher price.
Amanda came up with some fun shower games, including
Mad Libs Cards of Hopes and Wishes for the Baby
Write Message on a Diaper to the Parents to Be
Dad to be, John also stopped by to partake in the festivities and we read some of the messages to him. The party favors included baby bottle jellybeans and makeup by Mineral Fusion Natural Brands.
After brunch, we went outside and took pictures by this gorgeous green backdrop. We loved how the green popped against the shades of blue that most guests wore to the party.
Congrats again Stephanie and John. Your New York friends can’t wait to meet baby Hudson.
