Last month, we rolled up our sleeves and put on our aprons at Taste Buds Kitchen. Taste Buds Kitchen is a unique culinary experience for children, families, adults and friends. The class welcomes top chefs, amateur chefs and even foodies without any culinary skills. We are excited to share our Taste Buds Kitchen experience with you.
Taste Buds Kitchen was founded by Jessi Walter Brelsford in 2007. This large kitchen studio is kid friendly during the day, and transforms into an adult BYOB kitchen in the evening. Culinary events include a variety of cooking classes, parties, camps and special events. Chefs prepare a variety of scrumptious recipes, both savory and sweet. Children as young as two can sign up for classes. There are 12 locations around the country and classes range from Italian to Indian to Mediterranean to Sushi and more.
We signed up for the Classic French Countryside class. We enjoy cooking, but we have never attempted classic French cuisine. During the class, we learned to perfect our cooking techniques and knife skills and “chop it like it’s hot.” We also braised chicken for Coq au Vin, prepared a zesty Green Salad, baked Lyonnaise Potatoes and made Crepes with Berry Coulis.
Taste Bud’s adult classes are BYOB so remember to bring your favorite vino. We highly recommend a Burgundy or White Burgundy for the Classic French Countryside class.
When we walked in, we were given a green Taste Bud’s apron. This designer kitchen studio has six cooking stations that accommodate four chefs at each station.
During the cooking class, we learned how to dice onion and slice veggies. We divided and conquered each course.
We also learned how to make crepes and a cream cheese filling from scratch. Remember to “beat it” and “whisk it real good.”
After 90 minutes of cooking, we couldn’t wait to taste the dishes. The food was delicious.
