This week, we wanted to share our dining experience with The Cakeboard Catering Group. Behind The Cakeboard Catering Group is brother and sister duo, Davon and Doreshia Hines. They hosted an intimate 3 course dinner for event planners and bloggers. We are excited to share our evening with you.
Davon and Doreshia offer catering services and specialty desserts for events across the tri-state area. Their business started in 2010 as a dessert company that focused on cakes and cupcakes. The siblings began The Cakeboard Dinner Party in 2012 and have since expanded to form The Cakeboard Catering Group, which offers an array of catering services.
Doreshia kept the table arrangements simple, with yellow roses and solidago.
We started the meal with warm, flaky, buttery cornbread muffins and a rum punch. We couldn’t stop at just one muffin!
The next course consisted of a fish cake with pickled carrots and spicy mayo. The tilapia cake was crispy and packed with flavor. We would have liked a little more of the spicy mayo on the plate. The fish cake was our favorite dish and one of the Cakeboard’s most requested item.
The entree consisted of roasted chicken with salsa verde, cauliflower purée, roasted potatoes and cauliflower. The chicken was cooked perfectly but we thought there was a little too much salsa verde.
Our meal concluded with a citrus panna cotta with butter cake, raspberries, cherries, peach and raspberry sauce. The dessert was a light, refreshing palate cleanser and perfect way to conclude a fabulous meal.
We are excited to work with Davon and Doreshia for our Country Hoedown Birthday in August. If you are looking for a caterer, we highly recommend the Cakeboard Catering Group.
