You really autumn know… Are you hosting a fall dinner party and looking for fall dinner party ideas? If so, we have some easy autumn entertaining tips that you can pull off yourself. That’s right, all the glitz and glamour without hiring a professional party planner. With some Twinspiration, you can transform an ordinary dinner into an extraordinary meal at home. We are excited to share our fall dinner party ideas with you.
Fall Dinner Party Ideas: Pick a Theme
Don’t sweat the fall stuff. Picking a theme is one of our top fall dinner party ideas. A theme can be anything from an ingredient to a color palette. Just remember to keep fall colors and seasonal fall ingredients in mind. In the past, we hosted
- Burgundy and Blush Fall Dinner Party with lots of purple foods
- Honey themed Dinner Party
- Potato Single Ingredient Dinner Party
- Orange Ingredient Dinner Party
- Squash Single Ingredient Dinner Party
This year, we opted for a chic, sophisticated red, white and gold Fall Dinner Party in our patio. We incorporated these colors into the flowers and our table decor. The theme was un-be-leafable.
Best Fall Dinner Party Ideas: Style a Fall Tablescape
I’m turning over a new leaf this fall. A gorgeous, seasonally decorated dinner table sets the tone for the dinner party. With just a few thoughtful touches, you can transform your party into something more special. We dressed the table with crisp white linens and a gold table runner. Each place setting featured a gold charger plate, red dinner and dessert plates and white napkins tucked inside a napkin ring. The floral arrangements included red roses and red alstroemeria. We also added red tea light candle holders. This dinner table is quite easy to setup and there’s nothing quite like the magic of a cozy fall outdoor dinner party.
Fall Dinner Party Ideas: What Wine to Serve
Bautumns up! We partnered with Monis Cellars for a fall wine tasting. Monis Cellars is a boutique winery based in Santa Barbara and Los Angeles. They make wines with lower sulfites than their bigger commercial counterparts. We placed the Monis wines in the center of the tablescape in between the flowers and candles. When the wines are part of the tablescape, your guests will always know what wines they are drinking.
We started our Monis wine tasting with the 2020 Rosé of Grenache.
This is a Provence style Rosé, which is our favorite.
Pinot for your thoughts? Next we moved on to the reds, starting with the 2019 Pinot Noir. This Pinot has notes of bright red fruit, naturally bright acidity and good structure as well as aromas of dried cherries and a hint of dark chocolate. This is our favorite Monis Wine.
Que Syrah. Syrah. Our last wine was the 2018 Syrah Santa Barbara Syrah. This wine was smooth with layers of dark fruits and hints of peppers.
Fall Dinner Party Ideas: What Food to Serve
We recommend incorporating season fruits and veggies into your menu. Some of our friends were celebrating Rosh Hashanah so we decided to serve a traditional Rosh Hashanah menu. If you celebrate Rosh Hashanah, pin this post for next year. Dinner parties should be fun and the host shouldn’t be in the kitchen all day long. Keep dinner parties potluck so that you can spend more time with your guests. We started with Apples and Honey.
We served a variety of Knishes. We cut them up so that everyone can try the varieties.
One of our friends made challah bread.
Winner winner, chicken dinner. We served Roasted Honey Glazed Chicken with roasted root vegetables.
For dessert, we served bee-utiful cookies, babka and honey cake.
This fall, don’t stop beleafing. We know that you can host your own fabulous dinner with our fall dinner party ideas.
