Mint Julep
Ingredients
- 1 oz Mint Syrup
- 1.5 oz Maker’s Mark or bourbon
- 1 Sprig of fresh mint
Instructions
- Fill a collins glass or silver mint julep cup with crushed ice
- Add the mint syrup and bourbon
- Stir briskly
- Garnish with a mint spring and straw and serve
Mint Syrup
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup Turbinado sugar
- 3/4 cup Water
- 1 cup Chopped fresh mint
Instructions
- In a saucepan over medium-high heat, combine the sugar and water to a boil, stirring until the sugar is dissolved
- Remove from the heat and add the mint
- Cover and let stand for 3-5 hours
- Strain into a jar and refrigerate until needed
- Makes 1 cup
