Omakase in NYC – The Menu: Fresh, Delicious Sushi
We dance to a different tuna. We selected the 15-course tasting of Omakase in NYC and a sake tasting flight. This was our first time experiencing Omakase, and we were blown away by this unique and memorable culinary experience. You don’t even need to add soy sauce to the courses. Our first course was a hot soup with snow crab and garlic. What a way to start the meal- this course was so flavorful.
Leave it to salmon else. Our second course was an egg custard dish with salmon roe.
Ya da ‘mame. One of our favorite dishes was the fish with edamame. The edamame looks like wasabi but it’s really edamame. It was so tasty.
You had me at nigiri. Next we sampled 10 pieces of nigiri. We tried tuna, cod, salmon, foie gras, toro, sea urchin, eel, caviar and more. It was fun to watch the chef prepare each course in front of our eyes and talk about the dish as he handed it to us.
All you flan eat. We concluded our meal with a Purin, a Japanese Custard Pudding that tastes and looks a lot like flan.
Masaaki – What to Drink: Sake Tasting
For the sake of it. Why choose one drink, when you can sample three different sake. The sake paired nicely with the Omakase.
