Eataly is un-bee-livable. This year, many NYC restaurants created beautiful al fresco sidewalk cafes. Eataly’s rooftop restaurant, SERRA by Birreria, changes its charming decor and menu every season. If you are looking for one of the best rooftops in Flatiron, check out Eataly’s SERRA d’Autunno.
Where are the Best Rooftops in Flatiron?
Eataly is conveniently located in the heart of Flatiron, right next to the iconic Flatiron Building. We dined at SERRA Fiorita just a few weeks ago. The rooftop was filled with summer colors and lots of gorgeous paper flowers. SERRA d’Autunno‘s theme this year is Honey and Harvest. The restaurant features a yellow, orange and brown bee-utiful beehive inspired look and a delightful honey themed menu. Eataly is open from 4PM to 9:30PM on Monday to Thursday and 11:30AM to 9:30PM from Thursday to Sunday.
What to Order to Drink?
We started with a round of Cocktails d’Autunno. These fall inspired cocktails were colorful and delicious. We ordered the Eucalipto and the Cannella Ross. The gin and eucalipto syrup were refreshing in the Eucalipto.
The edible glitter of the Cannella Ross adds a fun element to this apple cider cocktail. It has brandy, cinnamon and cranberry, making it so perfect for fall.
What to Order for Dinner?
To bee or not to bee, that is the question. Eataly’s menu features many signatures with honey, which are labelled with a bee icon. We recommend starting with Nettare e Formaggio. This regional cheese plate features a Mieli Thun honey pairing. These cheeses and honey are available in the Eataly store downstairs if you want to purchase it and make this cheese plate yourself at home.
- Acacia Honey and Guffanti Gorgonzola Piccante 300-Days Aged from Lombardia
- Italian Forest Honey and Perenzin Honey Waxed San Pietro from Veneto
- Linden Honey and Guffanti Robiola Due Latti from Piemonte
We also ordered the Insalata di Zucca E Farro and the Vinaigrette Insalata Del Mercato. The Farro salad was hearty with delicate squash and kale. The lettuce salad was refreshing with apples, walnuts and an incredible apple cider vinaigrette.
We sipped on a Barbera with our main course..
Mission impastable. The Barbera paired nicely with the Zucca E Stracciatella and the Pasta al Forno Con Zucca E Tartufo. The honey squash was sliced in half with warm stracciatella, sage and honey. The ziti had butternut squash, Parmigiano Reggiano DOP and urbani black truffle. We aren’t vegetarians, but we didn’t even miss the meat.
Eataly partnered with the Bee Conservancy, a public charity based in New York. When you eat a honey-focused dish, Eataly will donate 10% of the net proceeds to their Sponsor-a-Hive program. Stop by SERRA d’Autunno before it turns into SERRA Alpina for winter. You can also check out our Outdoor Dining section for more recommendations.
Life is full of beauty. Notice it. Notice the bumble bee, the small child, and the smiling faces.

That is so true! It’s so important to notice the little details around us such as the good food, the beautiful ceiling, the children smiling around us and the edible glitter in our drink. Beautiful pictures.
