Happy Labor Day everyone! We celebrated the holiday with our family in New Jersey. We biked around the neighborhood and made yummy STAR shaped treats all dressed up in the Americana colors!
Most people associate Labor Day with the conclusion of summer and the beginning of school. But the holiday really centers around paying tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers.
Hurricane Hermine did not put a damper on our holiday weekend festivities. We started our weekend with a bike and scooter ride. In honor of Labor Day, we made gooey STAR shaped grilled cheese bites.
For dessert, we baked star shaped red, white and blue sugar cookies. We decorated them with red and white royal icing and then Dylan placed blue sprinkles and white pearls on each cookie. They were easy for 5 year olds to make.

The activities you planned for your family were perfect for teaching your children how to enjoy labor day – and celebrate the true meaning of it. Adorable family!
Looks like a fun weekend! Our school starts so early that Labor Day weekend is almost a month into school for us. But it’s our first long weekend of the school year so it’s often a busy travel weekend around our area. I love that you were able to relax and enjoy family time together.
I love how you themed everything for Labor Day. We love captain America, so this will give me lots of inspiration for this years’ Labor Day. Thanks for sharing
