Let’s raise a glass and toast to 60 years. Last month, we planned a surprise 60th birthday party for our Auntie. We celebrated 60 with a glamorous red, white and black themed party. We are excited to share the details with you.
We selected a chic red, white and black color palette. A theme transforms a regular party into a spectacular evening that guest will remember for years. A theme also streamlines the party planning process and helps to create cohesive food, beverages and decorations. Usually we ask guests to dress according the theme’s colors. Since this was a surprise party, we skipped a dress code.
We placed floral arrangements on the coffee tables. We added red votive candles for some additional pops of red. We also pre-poured glasses of wine and champagne on a Beatriz Ball tray, so that guests could grab a welcome drink as they walked in.
We used jumbo red balloons in 60 as moveable photobooth props. These balloons can be helium or air-filled. Remember to get balloon weights if you use helium.
We created a stylish bar using a silver sequin tablecloth, Beatriz Ball ice bucket and additional floral arrangements.
Our Aunt was surprised when she walked in. Our Uncle did a great job keeping the party under wraps.
We loved the food from our Father’s Bollywood Disco party. We used the same caterer for this party. Ravi Nimma of Bhog created a delicious Bollywood feast that was diverse and abundant in flavor.
The appetizer spread was almost too beautiful to eat.
After cocktail hour, we snapped some family shots.
The entrees were set up in chaffing dishes.
We ordered a Mother Mousse cake for dessert. We also served an assortment of Indian sweets.
The Indian Aunties loved our balloon props and we taught everyone how to film Boomerangs with them.
Happy birthday Sujutha Auntie! We hope you had as much fun as we did. Thanks to all of our family and guests for joining us.
