Gulaabo NYC shares its visionary team with Baar Baar, the renowned modern Indian restaurant in the East Village, led by the dynamic duo of Sujan Sarkar and Payal Sharma. This culinary powerhouse brings a wealth of expertise and innovation to the table.
I love you samosa. Gulaabo NYC delicately weaves feminine subtlety into the ambiance. The walls adorned with a blend of pink and gray wallpaper, accompanied by plush charcoal gray chairs and luxurious green velvet banquettes. The space is further adorned with intricately crafted wooden light fixtures, casting a warm glow. Venture upstairs, and you’ll discover a touch of added warmth with the presence of rich red velvet curtains. This thoughtful and curated design transforms Gulaabo NYC into a visual dining masterpiece.

At Gulaabo NYC, the essence of Punjab comes alive.
Gulaabo NYC: Sip on Punjabi Inspired Cocktails
Sip me baby one more time. We explored Gulaabo NYC’s tantalizing selection of cocktails, including the Sarson, Tandoor, and Genda Phool. These signature cocktails, inspired by the vibrant essence of Indian cuisine, elevated our dining experience to new heights. The Sarson cocktail takes its name from the Hindi word for mustard, a staple ingredient in Indian cooking. Crafted from mustard tequila tempered, tamarind and chili, this libation was our favorite. The Genda Phool, which means marigold in Hindi, embraces the spirit of the marigold with its blend of muddled berries, floral gin, a splash of citrus and topped with bubbles. If you like a spritz type cocktail, go with the Genda Phool.
For those seeking a drink reminiscent of the smoky flavors that emanate from a tandoor oven, the Tandoor cocktail is a must-try. It showcases the depth and complexity of Indian spices with its infusion of smoky mezcal, spiced rum, and a touch of charred orange.
Gulaabo NYC: Share Punjabi Appetizers
Cumin get it. We started with the tangy Golgappe, succulent Lamb Seekh Kebob and the creamy Dahi Bhalla. Each bite is a harmonious blend of spices and textures, leaving a lasting impression on your palate. The Golgappe, with their crispy shells and flavorful fillings, a unique way to start our Indian meal.

Spudtacular. These bite-sized wonders are traditionally filled with a mixture of spicy potato, chickpeas, and tangy tamarind chutney. You fill them yourself and drizzle sauces. It’s a fun DIY way to experience this app.

Seekh kebob, not attention. We love lamb. It’s our favorite protein and the Lamb Seekh Kebob did not disappoint. These tender skewers of ground lamb, seasoned with a delicate blend of herbs and spices, are grilled to perfection. The smoky aroma and rich flavors of the kebobs make for a truly satisfying start to our meal.

Enjoy the lentil things. If you prefer something creamy and refreshing, the Dahi Bhalla is a must-try. These soft lentil dumplings are soaked in chilled yogurt and topped with a variety of flavorful chutneys and tangy spices. The combination of smooth yogurt and tangy condiments creates a delightful balance of taste and texture, making it an ideal choice for those looking for a lighter yet indulgent appetizer.

Gulaabo NYC: Enjoy Delicious Punjabi Mains
Good cluck. We started with the Pind da Chooza, better known as Chicken Tikka Masala. Tender pieces of grilled chicken are smothered in a rich and creamy tomato-based sauce, infused with a blend of aromatic spices. This classic Indian dish never disappoints. We also enjoyed the Chule da Murgh, a homestyle chicken curry and the Amritsari Aloo Wadi, sun-dried lentil dumplings in a grandmother style curry.
Naan can compare to you. No Indian meal is complete without a side of freshly baked naan bread and/or kulcha. At Gulaabo NYC, they take it to the next level with their Makahn Naan. Soft and pillowy, this buttery naan is slathered with a generous amount of ghee, or clarified butter, adding an indulgent richness to each bite. The warm and flaky naan serves as the perfect vessel for mopping up the flavorful gravies and curries. The Amritsari Kulcha, a delightfully stuffed bread, unfolded layers of savory satisfaction with its robust filling. We also ordered the Zeera Pulao because Indian curries need some rice too.

Give me pinot more. We enjoyed our mains with a glass of Pinot Noir.

Love you to jamun and back. We ended our meal with Meetha. We highly recommend the Gulaboo, which is a gulab jamun with thicken milk and clotted cream.

If you are in the mood for Indian moode, head over to Gulaabo NYC today. Prepare to embark on a Indian journey of taste and wonder that will leave a lasting impression. Each bite is a journey of taste and texture, transporting you to the vibrant streets of Punjab.
