The Best 3 Heart Shaped Pasta Recipes Inspired by Hair Texture
Love is in the hair, and this Galentine’s we meant it with heart shaped pasta recipes. Instead of booking a dinner reservation, we hosted a chic red, white, and pink party at home. The entire menu was inspired by hair texture because if we are celebrating our girls, we are celebrating every strand. Straight, wavy, and curly guided each course. Spaghetti hearts brought sleek energy. Mafaldine delivered soft movement. Fusilli spirals showed off bold bounce. Every plate had personality. Every pairing felt intentional. Even the glam matched the garnish. If we are cooking pasta, we are styling it too. Champagne flowed. A strawberry mousse cake took center stage. We’re excited to share our Love Is in the Hair dinner party and heart shaped pasta recipes with you.
The Theme: Love Is in the Hair
We built the entire night around one unapologetically extra concept: hair texture meets pasta texture. The heart shaped pasta recipes incorporated hearts into the dish, whether in the shape, the cheese or the garnishes. Straight hair stepped in as sleek spaghetti. Wavy hair showed up as mafaldine with effortless movement. Curly hair owned the room as bold fusilli spirals. Each course turned into one of our favorite heart shaped pasta recipes, styled on crisp white plates against a striking red, white, and pink palette that refused to be subtle.
The Table: Setting the Scene for Heart-Shaped Magic

Straight & Bubbly: Spaghetti Marinara with Rosé Champagne
We started with sleek and simple because sometimes less is way more. Straight hair became our spaghetti. Long, glossy, minimal, and elegant. To transform it into one of our heart shaped pasta recipes, we cooked it al dente and tossed it lightly in marinara. Then we twirled it into delicate nests with tongs. While still warm, we shaped the top curves into hearts. The result is a spaghetti heart that is romantic, effortless, and almost too chic to eat.
The Pairing: Rosé Champagne
Straight hair deserves something polished and pretty, so we paired this course with a chilled Billecart-Salmon Rosé champagne. The crisp, fruity notes of the pink champagne cut through the richness of the marinara sauce, cleansing the palate with each sip and complementing the natural sweetness of the tomatoes. Together, the pasta and champagne create a balanced combination that is both fresh and flavorful. It was the perfect start to our pasta tasting menu.
Wavy & Refined: Mafaldine Beurre Blanc with Burgundy
Next, we added movement with mafaldine pasta (picked it up from Eataly). This pasta has ruffled edges that resemble soft waves. For this course, we tossed the pasta in a light butter and cream sauce. We layered in fresh basil cut into a heart shape for our heart shaped pasta recipes theme. The wavy edges of the mafaldine hold the sauce beautifully while showcasing the basil hearts, visually echoing soft, brushed-out hair waves. Plated in white pasta bowls, this quickly became one of our favorite heart shaped pasta recipes of the evening.
The Pairing: Burgundy
We paired the mafaldine with a glass of Louis Latour Burgundy to complement the rich, buttery sauce and fresh basil hearts. The wine’s subtle acidity and earthy notes balanced the creaminess of the pasta while enhancing the herbal brightness of the basil. Each sip cut through the sauce and lifted the flavors, creating a harmonious and refined pairing that elevated the dish without overpowering it.
Curly & Bold: Pesto Fusilli with Brut Champagne
We embraced bold texture with fusilli, whose curly, spiraled shape mirrors voluminous, bouncy curls. For this course, we topped the pesto pasta with fresh mozzarella hearts, creating one of our most striking heart shaped pasta recipes. To make the mozzarella hearts, slice fresh mozzarella into rounds and use a small heart cutter, or melt the cheese into heart molds. Keep the hearts chilled until plating, then place them gently on top of the warm fusilli so they soften slightly without fully melting. The white mozzarella hearts popped beautifully against the pesto.
The Pairing: Brut Champagne
We paired the fusilli with Brut Champagne to complement the vibrant pesto and creamy mozzarella hearts. The crisp, effervescent bubbles cut through the richness of the cheese while highlighting the fresh, herbal notes of the pesto. Each sip refreshed the palate, balancing the bold flavors of the dish.
Sweet Hearts: Strawberry Mousse Cake
Every Galentine’s dinner deserves a sweet ending, and our strawberry mousse cake from AnnTremet was the perfect finale. Served on mini heart-shaped dessert plates, the soft pink mousse cake perfectly fit into our red, white, and pink theme. The cake complemented our heart shaped pasta recipes beautifully, tying the entire meal together.
Dress Code: Red, Pink, and Full of Heart
For this Galentine’s dinner, we asked our guests to wear red or pink, which added an extra layer of fun and cohesion to the evening. The vibrant outfits popped against the white tableware, heart-shaped accents, and red, white, and pink décor, making the whole night feel festive, stylish, and perfectly on theme.
Parting Gifts: A Little Love for Your Hair
Every guest left the dinner with a little extra sparkle, a Calista hair brush as a sweet favor. It was the perfect way to tie the night back to our “Love Is in the Hair” theme, giving everyone a stylish takeaway that they could use long after the party ended. Practical, chic, and totally on-brand, the brushes were a fun reminder of a night filled with heart shaped pasta recipes, bubbly and friendship.
