Many fictitious holidays from TV sitcoms have been transformed into unofficial holidays off the screen. In the past, we celebrated Seinfeld’s “Festivus” and “Friendsgiving with Friends. Galentine’s Day was created by Leslie Knope from Parks & Recreations to celebrate “ladies being ladies.” It’s a day to commemorate your friendships with your best gals on February 13th. We are excited to share our first Galentine’s Day with you.
We selected a chic color palette of bold reds, blush pinks and crisp whites. We kept the decor fresh and feminine. We incorporated traditional Valentine florals with a twist into the decor. International Garden created our stunning bouquets with red, pink and white roses in bud vases. We scattered Gracious Home’s crimson votive candles throughout the room. We added Instaballoons’ red love script balloon and Paper Source’s blush champagne napkins into the decor.
We rounded out the decorations with Sparkle N Shine’s sparkly red handmade Galentine’s Day banner. The banner framed the seating area and created the perfect spot for our Galentine photo opps.
We created our gorgeous Galentine tablescape with a sequined silver tablecloth, Q-squared’s red & white appetizer plates and bowls, Pier 1’s scalloped cake plates and platters. In keeping with the theme, guests were asked to bring bubbles and a red or pink bite. For cocktail parties, we prefer to serve dishes that don’t require silverware.
Our whimsical Galentine cheese spread consisted of heart shaped Brie, Italian Truffle, Cotswold and Provolone cheeses, assorted crackers and salami.
We also served heart shaped turkey sliders with beet slaw and mashed avocado.
Guests also feasted on pitas filled with greek salad, pigs in a blanket and roasted red pepper hummus.
We served guests Champagne, Sparkling Water, Pink Lemonade and French Berry Lemonade. Guests customized their garnishes with raspberries, blackberries and strawberries.
We prepoured Champagne in flutes and served them on a Beatriz Ball sterling silver tray. Galentine’s Day wouldn’t be complete without hearts. We decorated each flute with a heart shaped strawberry. After guests arrived, we toasted to friendship.
It wouldn’t be Galentine’s Day without indulging in sweet treats. We devoured M&M candies, chocolate brownies with red and pink chocolate drizzle, heart shaped chocolate sugar cookies and Champagne!
We asked guests to dress in red or pink to coordinate with the party’s color scheme.
Cheers to a fabulous Galentine’s Day!
