Spring is here and picnic season has officially begun! Last weekend, we attended Upicnic’s Spring Tasting Event at The Smart Sofa. Head Chef, Marta Antonelli, created a tasty menu and we are excited to share the details with you.
If you haven’t heard of Upicnic yet, then you are missing out. This company focuses on hassle-free picnic experiences in New York City. We love picnicking in Central Park or Madison Square Park. While you can pack your own picnic basket with homemade or purchased items, Upicnic, founded by Alp Behar and Marta Antonelli, makes this process even easier with just a few clicks.
The Company provides:
Fresh, Organic and Sustainable Picnic Fare: sandwiches | salads | desserts
Lawn Games: corn holes | horse shoes | parts | spike ball | uno | cards against humanity | paddle ball
Other Essentials: blankets | sunscreen | dog food | portable phone chargers | bluetooth speakers | disposable cameras
Upicnic delivers preselected items in a beautiful picnic basket directly to customers in Central Park, Riverside Park, Bryant Park, Battery Park and all piers up and down the Hudson. Other locations are possible as well, so just contact Upicnic directly for more information. When customers are finished picnicking, Upicnic picks everything up.
Last weekend, we attended Upicnic’s Spring Tasting preview party. The menu featured:
Summer Shrimp Salad
Asian Chicken Salad with Ginger
Red Pepper Pesto Ravioli Salad
Creamy Potato Salad with Fried Capers and Tuna
BLT Salad
Lebanese Bean Salad
Pineapple Ginger Habanero Salad
Grilled Veggie Pasta Salad
Sauteed Pasta Panzanella
Bruschetta Pasta Salad
Herbed Bean Salad
Southwestern Pasta Salad
Dill Cucumber Dip
Roasted Eggplant Dip
Caprese Pasta Salad
Heirloom Tomatoes with Tahini
Our favorites were the Pineapple Ginger Habanero Salad and Roasted Eggplant Dip.
We also sampled delicious healthy desserts by Gud One. Gud One makes flavorful protein balls with plant based protein, nuts, dates and superfoods. They are rich in antioxidants, fiber, amino acids, potassium, magnesium and calcium. Our favorite was the chocolate, but blueberry was a close second.
CBS named Upicnic one of the best things to do this Spring. We recommend Upicnic for easy and fun picnic experiences in the Spring, Summer or early Fall. Check out last year’s Spring Tasting event and International Picnic Day Celebration here.
