Our nephew, Dylan, is currently obsessed with all things LEGO. Our little Master Builder has built intricate LEGO sets since he was three. Last year, he started watching the television series, LEGO NINJAGO. He was very excited when the series was developed into a feature film. Of course, he also selected this theme for his 6th birthday party. We are excited to share the celebration with you.
The NINJAGO characters inspired the party’s red, yellow, green, blue and black color palette. We lined the path towards NINJAGO City with colorful balloons. We incorporated several pieces from Party City’s NINJAGO collection: balloons, tablecloths, napkins and plates. We scattered NINJAGO printables as decorative accents.
Our menu was fitting for Ninjas:
Cole’s Cheese and Crackers
Garmadon’s Grapes
Scythe of Quakes
Pirate’s Booty in Lego Boxes
Sensei Wu’s Salsa
Llyod’s Guacamole
Kai’s Hummus
Zane’s Tortilla Chips
Jay’s Blueberries
The adults sipped on wine and beer while the ninjas enjoyed Honest juice boxes. The key to a well styled bar is height and color. Stacking wine glasses and juice boxes are easy ways to add height to the bar. We also made custom Ninja water bottles. These are very easy to recreate and you can skip the overpriced premade versions. We recommend peeling the water bottle labels, then printing the new label and then using clear packaging to tape the new labels.
We incorporated a variety of NINJAGO inspired treats to transform an ordinary dining table into something fit for our Master Ninjas.
This year’s cupcake flavors were Chocolate and Vanilla Chip. We prefer mini desserts when creating an elaborate dessert table. This way, everyone can try a little bit of everything. Archana created custom NINJAGO cupcake toppers to decorate the mini cupcakes. She also made dessert sushi, chocolate pretzel swords, and Ninjago sugar cookies. Serpentine gummies, nunchuck fruit twists and Swedish fish rounded out the dessert bar.
The ninjas (and adults) kept going back for seconds and thirds.
Dylan, like his aunties, loves photographing with photo booth props. He and his ninjas even battled with the nunchucks and swords props.
For favors, each child departed with a foam swords and homemade LEGO NINJAGO chocolates.
We had an amazing time celebrating our favorite little boy.
“As long as there’s something worth fighting for, there’ll always be a need for a ninja.”-Kai
