After your fifteenth Times Square selfie or Central Park stroll, it’s time for something fresh. If you’re looking for things to do with family in New York City that are interactive, high-energy and unforgettable, then SPYGAMES New York is it. Created by a former Head of Training at MI6, this adrenaline-fueled experience lets you dodge lasers, crack codes, and discover who in your family has true secret-agent potential—just ask our almost-12-year-old niece Keira, who strapped on her (imaginary) trench coat, sharpened her instincts and tackled every mission like a mini 007.

What is SPYSCAPE?
SPYSCAPE isn’t your average museum. It’s a playground for anyone who’s ever dreamed of being a spy. Tucked in Hell’s Kitchen at 928 8th Ave, the sleek, high-tech space looks more like a Bond set than a cultural spot. From the moment you step inside, you’re not a visitor, you’re an agent-in-training, ready to test your wits and reflexes.
SPYSCAPE has two epic experiences:
- SpyGames New York – the action-packed, high-energy challenge zone.
- SPYSCAPE Museum – a story-driven dive into the secretive world of real-life espionage.
Choose your mission or better yet, do both.

SpyGames New York: The Ultimate Family Showdown
Step into the Spy Zone, where every room is a mini-mission, and every mission challenges your family’s secret-agent skills. SpyGames New York features 10 high-tech rooms designed to push agility, memory, logic, and stealth to the max. One minute you’re crawling under lasers, the next you’re decoding top-secret messages. It’s like Ninja Warrior meets an escape room, but with way more spy vibes.
With just 50 minutes on the clock, your crew races to complete as many challenges as possible at Spyscape New York. Points are tallied, bragging rights are awarded and the family scoreboard gets very real. Pro tip: a little friendly competition keeps everyone on their toes. We have also been to SpyGames with friends multiple times. Here’s our a look back at our first and second time at SpyGames New York.

Perfect for Families with Kids
We brought Keira to SpyGames New York, and it was such a fun experience for tweens. SpyGames New York challenges kids to think quickly, strategize, and use their bodies in fun, safe ways. Even at almost 12, she was fully engaged and loved every second of it. Families with kids will appreciate how each game is designed to be challenging yet totally achievable, making it an ideal outing for a mix of ages.
Team Up, Spy Style
The golden rule? 2–5 players per squad. Big enough to feel like a team, small enough so nobody sits on the sidelines. Whether you’re tackling missions with friends, siblings, or your family crew, everyone gets a moment to shine. Strategize, support, and maybe throw in a little playful sabotage. It’s all part of the spy game. You’ll want sneakers and comfy clothes. Some rooms require precision, others demand quick thinking. Bring your A-game and a sense of humor.

Straight from the Spy Herself
Keira put her skills to the test in SpyGames New York. From cracking codes to racing the clock, every mission revealed a new strength. Strategy, focus, and speed? Totally her secret weapons. Created by a former Head of Training at MI6, SpyGames New York isn’t just a game—it’s a way to uncover hidden talents, instincts, and personality quirks. We tried it in NYC, but you can unlock your inner spy in London too.
