It’s time for some whiskey business. Whiskey Washback lets you experience over 75 types of premium Whiskey, Bourbon, Rye and Scotch. This one of a kind experience is a whiskey lover’s dream event. Guests sipped on various types of whiskey and enjoyed light bites. We are excited to share our experience at Whiskey Washback NYC with you.
What is Whiskey Washback?
Call me old fashioned. Bowery Collective, a boutique event production company founded by Walter Easterbrook, created to celebrate Latin culture, cuisine, drinks and entertainment. Walter, together with Emily Easterbrook, Partner and Creative Director of Bowery Collective produced Whiskey Washback in 2 cities: NYC (October 29th), and Washington D.C. (November 19th). We attended Bowery Collective‘s Arte Agave NYC, a tequila and mezcal tasting in September.
Whiskey Washback NYC: Bowery Hotel
Forget happy hour, this is whiskey hour. Whiskey Washback NYC was held at The Bowery Hotel in Noho. With over 75 types of premium Whiskey, Bourbon, Rye, Scotch and more from The PNW, Texas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Scotland, there’s something for everyone.
There were so many different types of whiskey and whiskey cocktails to sample at Whiskey Washback NYC , including a mix of well known and boutique whiskey brands.
Siponey served their Royale Rye, wildflower honey and lemon juice RTD cans. Their setup was bee-tiful.
Whiskey Washback NYC: The Food
Whiskey Washback NYC served a variety of light bites to pair with the whiskey. We started with oysters shucked on site by Billion Oyster Project. These fresh local oysters from Fishers Island and Atlantic Capes oyster farms were paired with whiskey and we were told to shoot them like an oyster shot. Yes we did it and highly recommend it.
Winner winner. Chicken dinner. One of our favorite dishes of the night was Tiki Chick’s signature Buttermilk Fried Chicken. This sandwich is made with their own Nashville Hot Honey sauce and homemade Pickle chips served on a classic Potato Bun.
I love you a waffle lot. We also enjoyed Brooklyn Baked and Fried’s Drunken waffles with blueberry topping. These chicken and waffles were the perfect mix of sweet and savory,
Don’t go bacon my heart. Other savory tastings included:
- The Leroy House’s Smoked Pork Loin, apple and fennel slaw
- Hearty and Spicy chili
- Mediterranean Za’atar and Green Olive Sticks
- Whole Wheat Rustic Loaves from Orwashers
- Beecher’s Handmade Cheese
- Maison Pickle serving House-made slab bacon and crisp
- Delicious house-made pickles by Jacob’s Pickles
My cupcakes bring all the boys to the yard. The Cocktail Parlor served some delicious whiskey infused mini cupcakes. The boozy cupcakes were packed with flavor. Think strong bourbon ball meets cupcake.
Whiskey Washback NYC: Cuban Cigars
Havana ooh na na. La Rosa Cubana hand rolled cigars for guests. Can’t be at a whiskey tasting without some Cubans, right?
Whiskey Washback NYC: The Entertainment
Whiskey Washback NYC is equal parts food/drinks and entertainment. We listened live music by Kelsey Pierce and Mess Jalone.
We also listened to beats by DJ Spin Diesel.
It isn’t a party without a photobooth. Photo booth and country western props? Yes, sign us up!
Whiskey Washback: Giveaway
Gimme, gimme (more). Gimme (more). There was also a giveaway for a chance to win a Regional Whiskey Cocktail Kit from Bowery Collective. We had a wonderful time at our first Whiskey Washback. The next event takes place in Washington D.C. on November 19 from 6pm-10pm at The Schuyler. Tickets for General Admission cost $125 and include three hours of unlimited samplings of whiskey and light bites. VIP tickets cost $150 and include early entry and four hours of unlimited premium whiskey and food samplings. We recommend the VIP tickets and getting on the food lines at the beginning of the night. If the friendship is old, the age of whiskey does not matter.

That sounds like an amazing event for anyone who loves whiskey! They had so much great entertainment and food there, too!
Looks like you had a great time with friends. SO many great songs too and great artists.
We were quite literally talking about one tasting yesterday. My son very much enjoys a good whiskey and my daughter thought that a tasting may be a fun idea.
Oh! This is great and something that we would love to attend. I am pretty sure my husband would be happy to check all these whiskey and whiskey cocktails. Will be on a look out on future events.
My husband would be all about this. I’ve only tried whiskey once so I think that this could be a super fun experience !
