Award winning birthday party. For this Bollywood Oscars party, we drew inspiration from our prior Oscars parties and our dad’s 70th Bollywood Disco party. The first step in creating the perfect ambiance for our Bollywood Oscars party was to transform the venue with a mesmerizing color scheme. We opted for a fusion of red, black and gold—a combination that exuded elegance and luxury. The fusion of red, black, and gold at our Bollywood Oscars party wasn’t just about aesthetics; it was about encapsulating the very essence of Hollywood glamour.
Bollywood Oscars: Tablescapes Fit for Royalty
It’s unbea-table. When researching local vendors, we stumbled upon a savvy party trick: buying linens can be a budget-friendly game-changer! For our Bollywood Oscars, we ordered the tablecloths, runners and napkins as well as charger plates from CV Linens. We found tablecloths, table runners, napkins, and charger plates in our color palette and then we just mixed and matched the tables. You can also find a lot of these linens on Amazon.
A table that tells a story. We opted for polyester for the tablecloths and the napkins. So, why polyester, you ask? It’s our secret wrinkle-fighting weapon. These linens didn’t just add a touch of posh to the scene; they stood firm against wrinkles, keeping our tables looking sleek from start to finish. We layered sequin table runners on the tablecloths. These sparkly additions brought the right amount of dazzle to our decor. Now for the con- you’ll need to wash the linens yourself vs. the rental company picking them. Don’t think of it as work but rather a practical investment for future festivities.
Life of the table. We added chic charger plates to amplify the allure of our glamorous linens. Coupled with a delicious buffet-style spread, these plates served more than a functional purpose—they elevated the entire table with an extra layer of sophistication. Bollywood Oscars: The Floral Arrangements
The floral arrangements by LillyBella Floral were absolute showstoppers, stealing the scene with their jaw-dropping design! We had a mix of high and low arrangements. Imagine this: the crisp elegance of white hydrangeas, the romance of red roses, the sassy vibes of red ginger flowers, and the glamorous touch of gold palm leaves—all strutting their stuff in both tall and short vases. These weren’t your grandma’s garden flowers. We’re talking wedding-level floral game here, where every petal was a party starter for Bollywood Oscars.
Bollywood Oscars: The Red Carpet and Backdrop
Roll out the red carpet. Our Bollywood Oscars party featured a gorgeous photobooth area with a red carpet fit for the stars. The red carpet was a nod to the opulence that characterizes both Hollywood and Bollywood. Bashify’s balloons and the metallic gold fringe curtain elevated our red carpet. Because milestones deserve their spotlight, the seamless incorporation of the numbers 7 and 5 marked this celebration as a stylish and flair-filled milestone.
The photo booth is where the magic happens. The props table, decked out with a bold red tablecloth, was a visual masterpiece thanks to the props snagged from Big Dot of Happiness.
The red carpet turned into the photo hotspot of the night, drawing everyone in for some candid shots, with or without the playful props. It wasn’t just a fancy runway; it was the go-to place where folks could freeze the moment, Bollywood-style.
Everyone was decked out in their Bollywood-inspired attire and took their turn under the spotlight. Whether it was solo shots flaunting individual flair or group photos capturing the collective vibe, the red carpet became more than just a walkway—it became a spontaneous photo booth, documenting the night’s easygoing fun and stylish moments.
Bollywood Oscars: A Slice of Heaven’s Cake Takes the Spotlight
Our Bollywood Oscars soirée featured a custom Oscars’ cake from A Slice of Heaven, a bakery in Sarasota, Florida. This masterpiece, adorned with an Oscars statue, a red carpet motif, and the number 75 scripted on the clapboard, was spectacular.
The cake was a tantalizing combination of Lemon Cake with Lemon Mousse and Raspberry. It tasted as good as it looked.

Our initial plan was to host the cocktail hour outdoors, enchanted by the idea of an al fresco celebration. However, the sweltering heat had different plans for us. Despite the shift, we couldn’t resist the allure of the stunning outdoor area, prompting us to seize the moment for some memorable family and group shots.
Pause for a moment to soak in the mesmerizing beauty of this venue. To capture the best shots, make sure to time these snaps during the golden hour, just before sunset. Go too early, and the sky might lack the warm hues; go too late, and the background might fade into the shadows. Strike the right balance, and you’ll crystallize the essence of this picturesque setting in all its glory.
Bollywood Oscars: The Speeches
Our priority was to savor every bite, sip, dance move, and moment of joy while keeping speeches to a minimum. However, in honor of our dad’s 75th milestone, a few heartfelt words were inevitable. He took a moment to express gratitude, acknowledging the family and friends who traveled from out of town to join in the celebration.
Of course, we spoke a few words, along with our older sister, Shruthi to celebrate dad’s big milestone birthday.
The pinnacle of the speeches was from our adorable niece, Keira. She graced the red carpet and delivered the cutest speech of the entire evening.
Bollywood Oscars: Get the Dance Party Started
A delightful surprise unfolded when our energetic cousin and charming nieces took center stage, treating the birthday boy to a spectacular Bollywood dance that added an extra dose of joy and flair to the celebration.
We also surprised our dad with a performance with our cousins. He loved it. It’s not easy to keep a surprise from him, but we did this time. Our cousin choreographed our dance and we learned it within 24 hours.
Bollywood Oscars: Distributing Best Dressed Awards and More
Keira took the reins of the party, bringing a playful twist to the festivities. She presenting awards for the best-dressed man, woman, child, grandpa. Adding a touch of Hollywood glamour, she handed out mini Oscars as the coveted trophies, turning the spotlight onto the stylish attendees and injecting an extra layer of fun into the event. Of course, Keira gave the best grandpa award to our dad.
Bollywood Oscars: Feasting on Indian Food from Tandoor Indian Cuisine
Now for the food! Picture this: the culinary magic behind our Bollywood bash came straight from the kitchen maestros at Tandoor Indian Cuisine.
