For love or Monet? Immersive experiences are back in NYC with a bang. We went to the opening night of Monet’s Garden NYC and learned more about the iconic impressionist artist, Claude Monet. Monet’s Garden NYC is a 360-degree journey through the history of the most iconic artist of the past century. These multimedia technology installations make Monet’s paintings come alive and even let you become part of the art. We are excited to share Monet’s Garden NYC with you.
What is Monet’s Garden NYC?
Monet’s Garden NYC is an immersive art exhibit in Downtown NYC on 30 Wall Street. Monet’s Garden NYC is a collaboration between Swiss creative labs Immersive Art AG and Alegria Konzert GmbH where guests can interact with Monet’s masterpieces like never before. The experience is open Monday to Wednesday from 10AM to 6PM, Thursday from 10AM to 8PM, Friday and Saturday from 10AM to 9PM and Sunday from 10AM to 7PM.
Monet’s Garden NYC: The Rooms
Guests are guided through three experiential rooms: The Studio, The Garden and The Showroom. Each room at Monet’s Garden NYC provides guests with insight and new perspectives on Monet’s life, his work and his masterpieces.
Monet’s Garden NYC: The Studio
The first stop on the immersive experience is a tour of Monet’s Studio. This room provides insight into Monet’s perceptions, techniques and creative process. The studio showcases Monet’s central themes of light, shadow, wind as water as a reflective surface through immersive multimedia technology.
Monet’s Garden NYC: The Garden
After the Studio tour, we moved to The Garden. This is a recreation of Monet’s famous garden in Giverny in Normandy. The Garden is a room where real and digital perception merge. The first installation comes alive through an Instagram filter.
The garden is gorgeous and there are lots of Instagramworthy photo ops. The garden landscape is quite extraordinary, vibrant and colorful.
There also a gorgeous purple and white installation with a drawbridge and digital water lily pond (you can even draw the water lilies in the studio room and then they will appear in the pond.
There’s also a white and green installation with a picnic bench.
Monet’s Garden NYC: The Showroom
The Showroom is an immersive 45-minute film about Monet. The room uses visuals and sound to bring Monet’s classic art come alive. You’ve never seen water lilies like this before.
Monet’s Garden NYC tickets Monday to Thursday are $35 for adults and $25 for kids. Flex / anytime tickets are $45. Kids under 6 are free. Tickets Friday through Sunday are $39 for adults and $26. Flex / anytime tickets are $47. Tickets subject to a $4 ticketing feee + 3% credit card charge. The experience is open now until January 8, 2023.
