Forget the Easter Bunny, this year is all about Easter with Unicorns! Our niece, Keira, is currently obsessed with unicorns. She watches Sweet Ambs’ unicorn videos on repeat. These mythical creatures add a little bit of magic to any child’s day. We were excited to celebrate Easter with lots of unicorns. Of course, the holiday included traditional Easter activities with a visit from the Easter Bunny and an Easter Egg Hunt. We are excited to share how to celebrate the best Easter with unicorns and kids with you.
We usually spend Easter with our sister, Dylan and Keira. Unfortunately last week, we lost a very special person in our lives, Sudershan Mama, our mom’s older brother. We dedicate this post to the man who was a second father to us. We know that he’s watching us from heaven. He was an amazing uncle and grandfather and we miss him dearly.
Open Presents from the Easter Bunny
Dylan and Keira’s day started with opening presents from the Easter Bunny. We filled their personalized Pottery Barn Easter baskets with assorted chocolates, Easter Eggs, purple stuffed bunnies, purple bunny bubbles, coloring books and Easter themed books.
Easter Egg Hunt and Brunch
Next, Dylan and Keira participated in an Easter egg hunt at their country club. The kids hunted for Easter eggs with their friends. Dylan, of course, chose to pick his eggs with his spectacular balloon jet pack.
Easter With Unicorns and Face Paint
After brunch, the kids visited a talented face paint artist. Keira asked for her favorite mythical creature, a unicorn. The face paint artist drew an adorable unicorn design on Keira’s cute little face.
Dying Easter Eggs
Keira loved the unicorn face paint design so much she kept it all day, even while she colored eggs with her brother. We purchased our Easter egg kits from CVS.
With the PAAS Easter Egg Decorating kit, you can color eggs quickly. You’ll need a dozen or two hard boiled eggs and plastic cups. We placed the hard boiled eggs for each child in a bowl.
Mix the dye tablet with water in each cup. For bright, vivid colored eggs, you can add 3 tablespoons of vinegar to each glass. If you want your eggs to be standard colors, you can use lemon juice instead of vinegar. The kids patiently waited for the water to darken. This process took about 10 minutes.
Next Dylan and Keira began dipping each of their hard boiled eggs into the various colored waters.
Keira loved celebrating Easter with unicorns. Our little unicorn enjoyed coloring her eggs.
You can use the back of the packaging to dry all the eggs. The kids popped out the circles and placed all of their colored Easter eggs on the packaging to dry.
While she waited for her eggs to dry, Keira hopped inside her adorable unicorn storage box from Hurricane Munchkin. These storage boxes are fun, functional and tough enough to hold heavy items. Most importantly, two unicorns are better than one.
When she’s not posing in the box, she’s using it to put her stuffed animals away in her playroom. Dylan’s storage box features a whimsical dinosaur. He also stores his stuffed animals in them.
We hope your Easter Sunday was as fun as Dylan and Keira’s. Check out Hurricane Munchkin to keep all of your kids toys tidy and organized. Sudershan Mama, we would have loved to spend this holiday with you, but we know that you were here with us in spirit.
“Be Yourself. Unless you can be a unicorn. In that case, you should always be a unicorn.”
