Live life in color! Did you know that Eataly and Color Factory teamed up for one spectacular colorful dining experience? We experienced Color Factory and dined at Eataly Flatiron, but this was our first time dining at Eataly Downtown. This summer, you have to dine at La Pizza & La Pasta A Colori, a vibrant pop-up in Eataly Downtown. This multi sensory experience focuses on color throughout its menu and decor. Eataly and Color Factory are one incredible combination in 2021. We are excited to share our fantastic colorful dining experience at Eataly and Color Factory.
What is La Pizza & La Pasta A Colori?
Color Factory’s immersive celebration of color combined with Eataly’s superb Italian cuisine created a unique dining experience at La Pizza & La Pasta A Colori in Eataly Downtown. La Pizza & La Pasta A Colori is open Monday to Thursday from 12:00PM to 8:00PM, Friday and Saturday from 11:30AM to 9:00PM and Sundays from 11:30AM to 8PM. You can enjoy their Restaurant Week menu from July 19 to July 30, 2021 for a special $21 two-course meal. Eataly Downtown is the perfect location for a Battery Park happy hour, Battery Park lunch or Battery Park dinner. Here you can feast with your eyes, stomach and minds while enjoying the gorgeous sunsets overlooking the World Trade Center Memorial and Brookfield Place.
When you walk into the restaurant, you’ll be greeted with the “Somewhere Out There,” installation by artist Eric Rieger. This stunning work of art on the ceiling features multi-colored pieces of yarn. Color Factory has features a similar piece of ceiling art in their Soho location too.
Eataly and Color Factory: What to Order to Drink?
Tequila mockingbird. Eataly and Color Factory’s drink menu incorporates bold colors and flavors from green to gold to blue to purple. We highly recommend starting your meal with a round of cocktails. We started with the Onde di Vita and the Breeza del Giardino. Our favorite was the Onde di Vita. This cocktail has a stunning purple hue with a delicious mix of tequila, orange liqueur, blueberry purée, lime juice and simple syrup.
If you are gin person, try the Breeza del Giardino. This drink is a delicious mix of St. Germaine, sparkling soda, cucumber and mint. It was a great way to be-gin the evening. Both cocktails reflected Eataly and Color Factory in perfect drink form. At Eataly and Color Factory, it’s easy to live every hour like it’s happy hour.
Let’s make pour decisions. We also sipped on an Italian Rosé for the first time. We highly recommend the Pinot Grigio Ramato, Le Vigne di Zamo.
Eataly and Color Factory: What to Order for Dinner?
Cheese the day. Eataly and Color Factory’s food special menu also incorporates color into the food. You can also order off Eataly’s traditional non-color inspired menu. Sitting across from the colorful rainbow ceiling, we started with the Gialloinsfumatura, an assortment of artisanal Italian and American Cheese with mustards and jams. This cheese board resembled a painter’s palette and paired nicely with our cocktails. Let’s just say that sweet dreams are made of cheese.
Come and spaghet it at Eataly and Color Factory. We also shared the Spagetto al Pomodoro and the Il Risotto Rosso. Both were good but our favorite was the Squid Ink Risotto. This dish was quite unique and we never had Squid Ink Risotto before. Enjoy rice, rice, baby with housemade Stracciatella and Parmigiano Reggiano.
The spaghetti was perfectly cooked and seasoned too. Seriously look at this pasta pull! We liked sharing both dishes and they paired nice with the Italian Rosé.
Donut go breaking my heart (I couldn’t if I fried). We conclude our meal with the Castagnole Colorate. These fried ricotta donuts were delicious and filled with raspberry, mango and blueberry jam. This is Eataly and Color Factory in dessert form. The colors are vibrant and the donuts are a bite of heaven.
This summer, enjoy Eataly and Color Factory at Eataly Downtown. Better yet, stop by for Eataly Downtown Restaurant Week. Eataly also has a variety of cooking classes and special events. Don’t forget to snap a pic at the wall of color (this wall transported us to our original experience at Color Factory too). Cooking is like painting or writing a song. Just as there are only so many notes or colors, there are only so many flavors – it’s how you combine them that sets you apart.

The different colors in the surroundings do put people in a better mood. And food that has different colors often have varied nutrients the body needs, so a win-win all around.
