Who says birthday celebrations are just limited to one day? We started our festivities with a Rosé et Blanc party, and concluded with an intimate family style dinner at Junoon. Junoon is one of our favorite Indian restaurants, and best of all it’s right around the corner from us. We are excited to share our birthday dinner with you.
Junoon, which means passion in Hindi, opened its doors in 2010 in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City. This fine dining restaurant delivers an elegant, yet modern take on Indian cuisine.
We worked with David to plan our birthday dinner in the Jaipur Room with a heavenly menu created by Executive Chef, Akshay Bhardwaj.
This vibrant, stunning room seats 50 guests and features 18-foot high ceilings and a 200-year-old hand-carved wooden arch from a palace in Jaipur.
We had sparkling rosé waiting for our guests as they arrived.
We planned a delicious multi-course family style dinner with a dozen of our closest friends. We recommend ordering a side of yogurt in case guests in your party need to balance the heat from some of the spicier items. We started with the Eggplant Chaat, Watermelon Chaat, Sloppy Pao and Ghost Chili Murgh Tikka. Our favorite was the Chicken, but beware- it’s SPICY.
The mains included Artichoke Mattar, Hara Kofta, Murgh Lababdar and Shrimp Moilee. Indian food is meant to be shared family style, and we recommend trying a little bit of everything and mixing it together.
We concluded our meal with two decadent desserts: Kulfi Pops and Rice Pudding. Special thank you to Junoon and our friends for another wonderful birthday celebration.
