Welcome to The Consulate Midtown, where diplomatic flavors and world-class dining diplomacy reign supreme. We are excited to share our unforgettable soirée at The Consulate Midtown with you, where “consulate” takes on a whole new, delicious meaning.
The Consulate Midtown: A Midtown Manhattan Culinary Hotspot
After a day of sightseeing, I’m Central Park-ing myself here for the night. Nestled in Midtown Manhattan on 56th Street, between the 5th and 6th Avenues, The Consulate Midtown beckons with a luxurious escape from the city’s hustle and bustle. The restaurant’s prime location offers a welcome respite for both locals and visitors in search of an elevated dining experience. This culinary gem is also just steps away from the iconic Central Park, adding an extra layer of charm to its surroundings.
Founded in March 2023, this establishment marks the second chapter of the Consulate. The Consulate UWS, made its debut in 2019. Founder, Metodija Mihajlov and his twin brother Kiril Mihajlov introduced their innovative concept on the Upper West Side, successfully blending global French Modern American flavors, and have now brought their winning formula to Midtown. With an internationally-inspired menu crafted by the renowned Chef Alan Vargas, The Consulate Midtown promises a culinary journey that transcends borders, inviting diners to explore the world through its exquisite dishes.

The Consulate Midtown: A Sip of Heaven in a Glass
Tequila Mockingbird. Our dining experience at The Consulate Midtown was nothing short of extraordinary. We began our culinary journey with a selection of artisanal cocktails, each one a masterpiece in its own right. The Malalama, a standout among the offerings, captivated our palates with its exotic flavor profile with spicy tequila, ancho ryes, blood orange and a touch of lime. The French 56 is a nod to the French 75 and the Ginger Optional with mezcal, Aperol, ginger puree, lime were also impressive.

The Consulate Midtown: Scrumptious Appetizers to Start the Meal
Shitake Happens. As we sipped on our drinks, we delved into a trio of appetizers that set the tone for the evening at The Consulate Midtown. The Mushroom Flatbread was a delightful fusion of earthy mushrooms and creamy cheese, tantalizing our taste buds. The Tuna Tartare, a true culinary work of art, bursting with freshness and vibrant colors. The Crab Cake, with its harmonious blend of flavors and textures, was indeed a dish worth celebrating. These appetizers weren’t just the start of our meal; they were a spectacular opening act for a memorable night.

The Consulate Midtown: Crisp White Wine to Pair with the Mains
Hold onto your wine glasses because, at The Consulate Midtown, we embarked on a thrilling food and wine journey that deserves a tale of its own! Let’s talk about La Legende de Saint-Martin Sancerre. This wine isn’t just any bottle; it’s a legend in a glass, and it was our trusty sidekick as we devoured the delectable mains. With each sip, this Sancerre was like a burst of sunshine, complete with zesty citrus notes and a mineral twist.

The Consulate Midtown: Delectable Mains Steal the Spotlight
Never say no when a good opportunity Gnocchis on your door. For the mains, we went family style and ordered a mix of pasta, fish and meat. The Mushroom Gnocchi, with its velvety texture and rich flavors, was a creamy vegetarian delight that paired nicely with the proteins.

A great way to see-food! The Branzino, presented elegantly and cooked to perfection, was a testament to the chef’s skill and unwavering dedication to the craft.

Chick it out. As for the Roasted Chicken, with its crispy skin and succulent meat, it was a comforting and mouthwatering choice that left us craving more. These mains showcased the restaurant’s culinary prowess, making our dining experience at The Consulate Midtown truly exceptional. We ordered sides of Broccolini and Brussels Sprouts, both prepared to perfection and bursting with flavor.

The Consulate Midtown: A Sweet Finale to Close out the Meal
When in doubt, burn it. Now, let’s talk about the finale of our dining extravaganza at The Consulate Midtown, and trust us, it was nothing short of dessert heaven. Imagine this: The Chocolate Lava Cake, with its molten center, was like a culinary rollercoaster of indulgence, and we couldn’t get enough of it. And then, there was the classic Crème Brûlée, sporting that perfectly caramelized top, hiding a luscious custard underneath—every bite was like a sweet and playful encore that put the perfect ending note on our extraordinary meal. It’s safe to say; we left with our sweet tooth thoroughly satisfied and our hearts full of dessert-induced joy.
