People often say that life is no picnic – but today it is! Happy International Picnic Day everyone! We celebrated the day with Upicnic and our close friends in Central Park. Upicnic makes picnicking in NYC a breeze. Simply order food, beverages and games and they deliver your items directly to you.
International Picnic Day is observed annually on June 18th. The true origin of this informal holiday is unknown, but many historians believe that picnics come from the French word “pique-pique.” Picnics became popular in France following the French Revolution when the Royal Gardens first opened to the public. The French often visited the gardens with potluck meals and wine. Today International Picnic Day focuses on relaxing and enjoying food outdoors on one day in locations all over the world.
We celebrated International Picnic Day in Sheep Meadow in Central Park. We ordered our picnic essentials from Upicnic. Thank you to Alp and Marta, the Co-Founders of Upicnic, for making picnicking so easy.
We sampled many food items at Upicnic’s tasting preview party in April, but our favorite was the turkey and gouda sandwich. We sipped on All Beauty Water, which not only hydrates but nourishes your skin. We also picked up some champagne and rosé, and packed them in these adorable wine bags from Kate Spade. Cheers!
