All you want is a good dose of vitamin sea on Memorial Day weekend! Since we couldn’t go to the beach, we decided to bring the beach to us. We hosted a chic red, white and blue nautical dinner party at home. With some Twinspiration, there are plenty of ways to enjoy yourself while social distancing and staying at home. We are excited to share our Memorial Day with you.
Elevating the dining experience at home does not need to be daunting or break the bank. The weather was beautiful so we set up our red, white and blue tablescape outside. We layered blue and white melamine plates over a red and white gingham table throw.

We created our shell-yeah centerpiece with sea shells and candles. We also scattered more shells and starfish on the table.

We added clawesome place card holders and used our Cricut to make the place cards.

We served a Jordan Chardonnay, which paired nicely with our meal.

This crisp, white wine is perfect for a warm spring or summer day.

We began our meal with a spinach salad with pears, walnuts, dried cranberries, goat cheese and homemade dressing.

This salad can be whipped up in a breeze and any leftovers can be served the next day.

For the main, we served crab cake burgers with spicy aioli.

We served the burgers with baked fries.

The crab cake was a piece of heaven. You can certainly make them from scratch. To save time, we purchased uncooked, pre-made patties from Freshdirect. We pan fried them for 10 minutes and then baked them in the oven for 5 more minutes. This was definitely a time-saving tip.

For dessert, we served a berry special crumble.

I can sea clearly now. This idea isn’t just for Memorial Day. Try it for July 4th, Labor Day or any day this summer.

There are no points of the compass on the chart of true patriotism.
