There’s no place like OM! Gyms and fitness studios are currently closed, but that doesn’t have to put a damper on your fitness routines. You can still get in your daily sweat with a mix of outdoor and indoor workouts. We are excited to share our tips on how to stay active during quarantine.
Tips on How to Stay Active During Quarantine:
First off, schedule a few blocks of time during the day for your workout routines. We recommend waking up early to get in some steps or exercise before the workday starts. During the workday, make a concerted effort squeeze in some steps and movement in between zoom meetings. At the end of the workday, add in your favorite streaming class or evening walk. We use our Apple Watch to set move, exercise and stand goals. This watch reminds you to move around and stand up, which can help you stay on track to achieve your fitness goals.
Workouts to Stay Active During Quarantine:
Running
Staying fit has been running through our minds. That’s right, we go outside and RUN! Make sure you are social distancing and six feet away from others. Depending on where you live, you may need to run with a mask. We are quarantining in New Jersey in a quiet neighborhood, so we are able to run without a mask. If you are in a crowded park or highway, you probably should run with a mask. Be aware that you may run slower or fatigue faster because masks restrict the flow of air into your lungs.

Jane DO Fitness APP (HIIT)
We love HIIT classes and replaced them with the Jane DO fitness app. Jane DO’s total body workouts build strength, confidence and power. The app features a variety of energy driven workouts. The app offers 5 types classes that range from 15-60 minutes. Each series starts with a stretch to warm up the body and reduce the risk of injuries. Many of the exercises use your bodyweight. For these classes, you will need a pair of heavy and light dumbbells and a mat.

The exercises are low impact with high intensity. We’ve been streaming their services for nine months and we have taken classes in their Soho studio. Use the code TWINS15 for a 15% discount.

Walking
Can’t run or sore from running, then go for a walk! When you go to a physical office, your day is filled with low intensity movements throughout the day. You may walk to work (or your car), take the subway, walk to lunch, walk to meetings, etc. All of this is eliminated when working from home. Don’t despair, just add in an afternoon or early evening walk to catch some extra steps.

I have been running everyday its actually so nice getting to run so early in the am!! thanks for shairng all your tips.
These are good tips. After gaining some weight during the first few weeks of quarantine, I started doing body weight exercises 🙂
Being active during this time – or just in general – is my go to for SANITY!! Without exercise, I would totally lose it!
This is great advice. It has been harder for me because I did daily errands to keep myself active and engaged. I have tried to do more walking around my neighborhood but sometimes felt glued to my work at the computer.
Aw tips friend! I really struggled to keep up my workouts while in quarantine. Thankfully my gym has opened with some healthy parameters so I am making a concession to go back.
Wow..it is really amazing and helpful ideas…keeping yourself healthy and active during this quarantine is the most important thing…
I definitely need to do more exercise. Ever since the quarantine and the gyms closing, I got a bit too lazy when it comes to working out.
Great and amazing ideas. Relevant for the time. Thankyou for sharing this with us
I’ve been trying to keep up with my Beachbody workouts during quarantine. Should be easy since they are at home, right? Except for the kids! lol
I finally started doing Yoga at home. Feeling so much better! Great tips 🙂
I haven’t exercised per se. When it’s cooler out, I do enjoy hiking and walking. But as soon as the warm weather hits, I’m in the garden working and average about 12,000 steps per day. So I have definitely been somewhat active. It’s been just too hot here to hike or go for long walks, which I enjoy so much!
That is exactly what I’ve been doing daily, exercising, meditating and trying to be as active as possible.
I always trying to do these tips everyday to keep me healthy and fit most especially these times.
I totally support the idea to stay active during stay home period. I too continue with my daily workout since our gyms are all closed here.
I do yoga daily and I started this after this lockdown only so I can say that this quarantine bring few good things in my life. BTW you looks so fit
Great tips! In times like these, I also believe that keeping an active and healthy lifestyle is the key to be able to protect us and help refocus.
Great tips. For me, it was going yoga every day. I could do 30 minutes every day! I also did dance breaks too!
I agree that it’s important to stay active and fit during the pandemic and these tips are really helpful! Thanks for an interesting article 🙂
I always trying to be more active this time of pandemic lockdown. I can do my daily yoga routine and meditation.
