Weight for it! Every January, we focus on developing healthy habits in the new year. Our gym of ten years closed last year and we looked for new ways to change up our workout routines. We teamed up with Find Your Trainer (FYT) to reach our fitness goals this year. We are excited to get FYT with you.

Best of all, these trainers come to you. FYT’s trainers can coach, push, and motivate you more than you may be able to do on your own. Based on our fitness goals, FYT matched us up with Sophia. We scheduled our training sessions with Sophia in our building gym and we warmed up with a 5-minute run.
After our warm-up, we worked on some mobility exercises to prep the body for the workout ahead. We want to open up the hips, spine and shoulders. We started with open books, cat-cow, pigeon and child’s pose.
Sophia designed workouts twice a week based on our fitness goals. We wanted to tone up and build long, lean muscles. She created workouts with high intensity interval training (HIIT) that used a mix of free weights, cardio, body weight, resistance bands and machines. No two workout days were the same, making each workout fun and new. We were excited to learn new exercises and perfect old ones with Sophia.
Sometimes machines at a gym can be daunting. Sophia helped us with our posture and form and guided us to the machines that would work our problem muscle groups.
Sophia introduced us to some machines that that we never used before even though they were in our home gym for years.
Sophia designed multi-joint exercises like squats with a medicine ball that worked upper and lower bodies at the same time.
We also worked on our abs with planks, side planks, dead bugs and more.
At the end of each workout, we stretched again to cool down and relax our muscles.
Make sure to stretch upper and lower parts of the body.
