Life is about exploring pasta-bilites. Last week, we dined at Novita, a modern meets classical Italian restaurant in the Flatiron District. Their outdoor cafe is beautiful, their food was heavenly and their service was impeccable. If you are looking for NYC restaurants with beautiful outdoor dining, then you have to check out Novita for your next date night, girls dinner or family dinner.
Chef and Partner Marco Fregonese opened this lovely trattoria 29 years ago. He began his culinary career in the Piedmonte and Lombardy regions of Italy. Novita’s dishes are a modern take on traditional Italian cuisine. Every bite is full of flavor and transports you right to Italy.

NYC Restaurants with Beautiful Outdoor Dining
Novita created a stunning outdoor tented trattoria. The tables were separated with dividers. The room was filled with luscious greenery. We hope they keep this outdoor seating next year too.

Outdoor dining is a great way to catch up with friends. We hadn’t seen most of our friends since March.

What to Order?
We began with a glass of Laurent-Perrier champagne. This brut was refreshing and the perfect way to start out meal.

The champagne paired nicely with our Antipasti. We shared the Funghi Misti (grilled portobello mushrooms), Fioro di Zucchini (ricotta filled squash blossoms) and Tuna Roll (an Italian version of a Sushi Roll). Our favorite was the squash blossom. It was creamy, fried and unique.

Pasta la vista, baby. We paired our pasta course with Far Niente Chardonnay. This Napa white wine was buttery and oaky and we would highly recommend it.

We dined on two types of Spaghettini, first with truffles and second with squid ink and seafood. Both were delicious, but our favorite was the buttery truffle pasta.

We skipped the Pesce (fish) and Conti (meat) courses, and went straight to dessert and limoncello. Remember when life gives you lemons, make limoncello.

For dessert, we shared the Gelati Misti (gelato), Semifreddo (frozen mousse), Gelati Affogato al Caffé (gelato sundae), Torta di Mascarpone (cheesecake). The mascarpone cheesecake with raspberry coulis was our favorite. It’s the best cheesecake and you must order it. The Gelati and Semifreddo gave us our chocolate fix.

This year, come and spaghet it at Novita. We recommend it for a date night, girls dinner or a long lunch. The outdoor dining, food and service is spectacular. Indoor dining is opening September 30th in NYC, so be on the lookout for details on indoor dining here.

I’d love everyone to try authentic Italian food.
