What’s not to Louvre about Paris? Since we can’t travel to France right now, the next best thing is to hop over to Mister French. Here you can enjoy some of NYC’s best outdoor dining. This restaurant and lounge combines Parisian and Old World style with a New World spirit. The result is an amazing ambiance with delicious bites. We are excited to share our dinner at Mister French with you.
Best NYC Outdoor Dining
Mister French is a modern French supper club by Redefine Hospitality and Chef David Burke. As you may recall, we recently visited David Burke’s casual restaurant, Woodpecker. Mister French is located in Nolita on NYC’s historic Bowery, near Soho, Noho, East Village, Lower East Side and Little Italy. The restaurant currently expanded its beautiful outdoor dining area.
What to Order for Drinks?
These days, we mostly drink wine but you must order cocktails at Mister French. General manager Steven Mazzuca and beverage director Elvis Rosario created a cocktail menu that is equal parts delicious and beautiful. The cocktails are also inspired by French culture and French ingredients.
We order the: La Vie En Rose, Fille De Lavande, Frosé and Candelaria.
Our favorite was the La Vie En Rose. It’s delicious and there’s a cute party trick with it (we don’t want to give it away, but trust us, you’ll love it). The frozen cocktails were also yummy and not to rich. Think of them as lightened versions of a typical Frosé or Piña Colada, which is exactly how we like our frozen cocktails.
The garnishes, flowers, fire and perfume make for one unbelievable cocktail hour.
What to Order for Dinner?
The menu features a contemporary approach to classic French fare. We ordered the Watermelon Pizza, Crab Fries, Filet Mignon Dumplings, Tuna Tartare and Croque Monsieur. Our favorite was the Croque Monsieur, which takes American ham and cheese sandwich and elevates it to French heaven. It was cheesy, creamy and delicious. The Watermelon pizza was refreshing and helped us balance out our more decadent bites.
You can’t go to a David Burke restaurant without ordering his clothesline bacon. It’s quite mind blowing! Our waiter served us grilled thick-cut bacon. The bacon was hung on clothespins and torched in front of us. Our friend, Chris loved it and said it was the best bacon he ever had.
For dessert, we ordered the apple tart with ice cream. The crust was buttery and the apples with ice cream all complimented each other nicely. It was the perfect way to conclude our meal.
For some of the best NYC outdoor dining, check out Mister French. Their outdoor garden is gorgeous, but we are equally excited about their indoor restaurant. Their dining room features burlesque shows and magicians. NYC indoor dining resumes in just three short weeks away, so mark your calendars!
I wouldn’t make every dish on my menu a science project, but it’s way exciting. It’s like going back to school, and I find it naturally appealing.
