With NYC’s latest pop-up Wonder World, you don’t have to be Alice to tumble down the rabbit hole and immerse yourself in Wonderland. Wonder World is a fairtytale of art installations based on Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. At Wonder World, guests can explore a flower tunnel, steep in a giant teacup, splash in a bubble swimming pool and soar to the moon. The immersive experience is kid friendly, so we brought Dylan and Keira. We are excited to share our Wonder World experience with you.
Wonder World is a 30 minute journey that features six Alice inspired art installations. This immersive exhibition is located in Soho at the historic studio of Andy Warhol. Tianyu Qiu set out to bring life to this stunning visual space. According to Qiu, “Walking into the Wonderworld, everyone is the protagonist. Just get your eyes open, and enjoy.”
As soon you enter the gallery, you are immediately transported to a Wonderland fairytale and seated for your very own Mad Hatter’s tea party.
Next we walked through a room filled with gigantic red and white mushrooms. Sadly, taking a bite from either side of these mushrooms didn’t change our size.
In the next room, we found Alice’s magical looking glass mirror.
Next we played with the cheese exhibits.
We also posed with the giant tea cup.
Next we jumped into bubble swimming pool and posed with the life sized crescent moon exhibit.
Lastly, we took a walk upstairs to the infinity room. We wished there was an overhead camera, but we still got some Instagram worthy pictures. You’ll see multiple images of yourself in this 4 paneled mirror room.
You can get your tickets to Wonder World until November 4th. Tickets need to purchased in advance and are for a specific date and time. Tickets are $26 or $22 for groups of 2 or more and free for children under 3.
