Don’t worry, beach happy. Want to escape the streets of NYC, but can’t get to the Hamptons? Then head over to Sandbar Rooftop located in Chelsea. This rooftop’s beach themed decor features whimsical nautical decor and nearly 360-degree views of Manhattan. Dress up in some beach chic attire and check out Sandbar, one of the best new rooftops in NYC.
Best New Rooftops in NYC
Life’s a beach; enjoy the waves. Sandbar Rooftop is located in Chelsea on the 23rd floor of the Hilton Hotel. The rooftop is open from 4:15PM to 11PM from Wednesday – Saturday and 3PM to 10PM on Sundays. Guests pay a $25 reservation fee to secure seating. The reservation fee is applied as credit to the final bill. Make sure to book a reservations because they do sell out and you can’t just walk in. The rooftop features a modern lounge with cobalt blue and crisp white sofas, plush beach pillows and throws.

This rooftop also features lifeguard chairs and four swings made from reclaimed wine barrels. These coastal vibes are unbelievable. You can experience a beach escape without leaving the city. Unlike the Hamptons, you can soak up nearly 360-degree views of the city.

What to Order to Drink?
Time to wine down. We started with local wines from the North Fork and the Hamptons. We recommend the 2017 Lieb Cellars Sparkling Pinot Blanc Estate and the 2018 Wolffer Estate Chardonnay.

Our favorite cocktail was the Ditch Plains. Look at how pretty the Ditch Plains is? It’s a delicious blend of Aperol, Chinola Passion Fruit Liqueur, Sparkling Water, and Prosecco. Let the good times Aperol.

What to Order for Dinner?
We recommend starting with the Market Fresh Crudité. The hand-picked vegetables with the basil crème frâiche are a healthy way to kick off your meal.

We also recommend the Summer Picnic Tasting Board and the Wild Mushroom Pinsa. The domestic cheese paired nicely with the berries and fresh fruit. The wild mushrooms, fresh ricotta and truffle oil were a match made in heaven. This Pinsa was our favorite.

We finished our meal with the Nutella Pinsa. The rich, hazelnut flavor of the Nutella, the creamy Stracciatella and fresh berries were a unique twist on a dessert pizza. We actually made a Nutella pizza from scratch.

I got 99 problems but a beach ain’t one! Stop by Sandbar in Chelsea for a handshake in the Hamptons without having to leave city. Keep in mind that time limits apply to reservations. If your table isn’t booked, you can stay longer than the allotted time. The hostess will give you a polite reminder. You can also check out our Outdoor Dining section for more recommendations.
