Best Cigar Bars in NYC: What to Order to Drink?
Tequila mockingbird. We kicked off our cigar night with a round of cocktails including: The Bluebird, Mombacho Spritz and 12-year scotch. These vibrant, colorful cocktails are a work of art, and they also complement the unique flavor of each cigar. Make sure to ask your server for cocktail and cigar pairing suggestions. Our favorite was the Mombacho Spritz. It’s an Aperol Spritz with a twist. If you like tropical cocktails, you’l love the The Bluebird.

Our second round included the Cool, Cool, Island Breeze and the Islay Remedy.

Our favorite was the Cool, Cool Island Breeze, which is a floral and fruit forward clarified daiquiri.

For-tuna-tely, the shared appetizers are fantastic. We started with the Spicy Tuna Tartare, Deviled Eggs and Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail. Our favorite was the Tuna. The devil is in the details. We first tried the Deviled eggs at Ophelia. These are the most gourmet deviled eggs you’ll ever eat. Each is topped with either caviar, candied bacon, saffron or chives. The Jumbo Shrimp is shrimpy the best.
Next up were sliders with bourbon caramelized onions, aged cheddar cheese and a potato bun. We don’t usually eat beef, but these were delicious.

This lobster is my butter half. The Broiled Lobster Tail was our favorite dish of the night. It was cooked perfectly and with the butter, it just melted in our mouths.

Merchants offers an excellent selection of cigars from around the world from Davidoff to the Grand Cru Toro, WSC Churchill, Aniversario Short Perfecto, and Royal Release Robusto. Don’t worry if you aren’t a cigar aficionado.

Your server can make some recommendations based on your taste preferences or drink of choice. Make sure to select a cocktail that pairs with your cigar (your serve can help with the pairing too).

I like you choc-o-lot. We finished up our meal with a rich, decadent Chocolate Lava Cake with fresh raspberries. It was the perfect way to end our experience at one of the best cigar bars in NYC.

I am sure there are many things better than a good cigar, but right now, I can’t think of what they might be.
