For years, we incorporated cardio, sculpt and abs classes into our weekly workout routine. We still aren’t quite ready to rejoin a gym, but we found a great streaming solution. How Are We Staying Fit in 2021?
Last summer, we stayed active in Montclair, NJ by running and walking outside. We also used the elliptical and stretched at home. Now we that we are back in NYC, our workout routines have changed a bit. We still haven’t joined a traditional gym yet, but the gyms in our apartment buildings have opened at reduced capacity. Our gyms each have a mix of treadmills, ellipticals, rowing machines, bikes, free weights and machines. However our favorite part about working out at a traditional gym was the variety of gym classes. Pre-pandemic, we went to gym classes around 5x a week.
We got to know our fitness instructors well and these classes gave us what felt like semi-personal training sessions for the price of a monthly gym membership. We spent a lot of time trying to find the best fitness apps to lose weight that could replace our gym class experience.

Get ready to sweat with the best and nothing less. JETSWEAT is one of the best fitness apps to lose weight. This app features a variety of high and low intensity workouts. JETSWEAT offers 14 types of classes that range from 15-60+ minutes.
With over 30 studio partners, there’s something for everyone from Yoga, HIIT, Barre, Cardio, Pilates, Dance, Martial Arts, Strength Training and more. There are over 500 classes available and new classes are also added monthly. Studios include Bari, Salt, Naturally Cut Fitness, SALT, BodyRok, ModelFIT, 305 Fitness and more. JETSWEAT truly is one of the best fitness apps to lose weight in 2021.
JETSWEAT is user friendly, and you can search by length of time, type of class or studio, body focus, equipment required and more. There are several no equipment workouts, though we recommend a yoga mat. You can also modify the workouts to be less intense or skip the equipment. We recommend streaming the app to your TV when working out at home.
Some classes start with a stretch and end with a cool down. We mostly focus on the HIIT and Sculpt classes, which are phenomenal. We usually start with some cardio before our JETSWEAT class so we are already warmed up. Be prepared for a great workout with one of the best fitness apps to lose weight.
Our favorite studio is Naturally Cut Fitness. This class by Rickey Burton has everything we want from a gym class. It’s a high energy, high intensity and fantastic workout. We also stream JoyRide, Kickat55, Fitness Switch Playground, ModelFIT and Fhitting Room. We also tried 305 Fitness even though we have two left feet.
