Oscar Wilde is located in the Flatiron neighborhood on 27th Street between 5th and 6th Ave. The restaurant immediately transports you from NYC to the Victorian Era. Every detail inside the restaurant was well conceived- from the design of the bar to the gorgeous chandeliers, 16th century fireplaces, 19th century grandfather clocks and more. The Best Restaurants in Flatiron: What to Order to Drink?
Let the evening be gin. At Oscar Wilde, you simply must start with a round of specialty cocktails. The cocktails are so beautiful, vibrant and refreshing. We began with the Lady Windermere, Hotel D’Alsace and Eilis Lacey. These cocktails featured a mix of spirits, juices, herbs and more. Our favorite was the Lady Windermere, a rum based cocktail with Hibiscus and mint. Let’s just say we were born to rum!
We also sampled the Blood and Sand, which arrived on fire. Seriously the presentation of the cocktails at Oscar Wilde is a show in and of itself.
We also sipped Wente Chardonnay with dinner. This wine pairs nicely with seafood and chicken.
The Best Restaurants in Flatiron: What to Order to Eat?
Everyday I’m trufflin’. We kicked off our meal with the scrumptious Truffles Arancini & Mozzarella and crispy Fried Calamari. Our favorite was the Arancini. The Arancini Balls were perfectly cooked and delicious. The dish also paired nicely with our cocktails. We are huge fans of these risotto balls, in fact Archana made an air-fried version for our spring dinner last month).
Life is about exploring pasta-abilities. For the main course, we shared the Clams and Uni Fettuccine with Shaved Bottarga, the Cornish Hen and Grilled Branzino. The Cornish Hen was stuffed with mushrooms and served with roasted baby potatoes. The Mediterranean Branzino was grilled and served with green beans and cherry tomatoes. The crisp Chardonnay balanced the richness of the pasta, the flavors of Cornish Hen, and the citrus in the Branzino.
Our favorite entree was the creamy seafood Fettuccine.
I like you chocolate. We finished up our meal with a rich, decadent Chocolate Mousse. The dessert featured alternating layers of chocolate cake and chocolate mousse. The delicious chocolate mousse was the best way to end our meal.
This year, dine at Oscar Wilde and enjoy the glitz and glamour of the Victorian Age. Oscar Wilde is definitely one of the best restaurants in Flatiron. There is also a beautiful paper fan backdrop near the entrance of the restaurant. Make sure to take some photos before or after your meal. The fettuccine caught my eye too. Funny play on words to start the post. 🙂

That pasta looks absolutely delicious! That is probably the thinnest, but also most beautiful chocolate cake I’ve ever seen. I need to visit this place so I can taste that scrumptious looking food soon!
I really love your pictures. And I love that Oscar Wilde quote. It’s one of my favorites.
