Cheers to thousands of perfect mom-ents this Mother’s Day! Are you looking for the best Mother’s Day ideas? This day is about showering mom with the love and attention she deserves regularly. This is our second Mother’s Day in quarantine. Last Mother’s Day, we were basically in one pod with our parents and celebrated with a Mother’s Day brunch in Montclair, NJ. This year, we were all vaccinated and celebrated Mom’s big day in NYC. If you can’t celebrate mom in person, you can always convert some of these creative ideas to be virtual. We are excited to share the best Mother’s Day ideas with you.
Our blog focuses on holidays with the family. Before Covid-19, we usually gathered at our older sister, Shruthi’s house in Montclair and cooked mom a feast from scratch. The food, wine and decorations were Instagram-worthy for sure. Since Shruthi moved to Park City, we decided to host our parents in Archana’s NYC apartment. We were luckily able to FaceTime Shruthi, Dylan and Keira into our family dinner. We kept Mother’s Day simple, but fun and easy to do during quarantine.
The Best Mother’s Day Ideas: Make a Card
So what should we give mom for Mother’s Day during quarantine? Rather than buying a Mother’s Day card, make one. Since we became partners with Cricut, we stopped buying cards and started making custom cards. You can make cards with Cricut Maker, Cricut Explore Air, or Cricut Joy. However, we recommend making Mother’s Day cards and small projects with Cricut Joy. With Cricut Joy, you can make a homemade card in less than 15 minutes. The hardest part is selected the design. We made our mother a gorgeous, intricate baby pink and copper card.
We created our personalized Mother’s Day card with Cricut Joy’s Insert Cards. These colorful blank insert cards can be transformed into unique, beautiful cards. We found a beautiful design in Cricut Design Space. We tweaked the colors to baby pink and copper for our project. We used the Cricut Joy Starter Tool Kit, which includes a Spatula, Weeder and Scraper, and Cricut Joy Card Mat. We placed the baby pink card on Cricut Joy Card Mat. Then we let Cricut Joy work its magic. Next we used the tools to carefully peel the top layer from the mat. Then we placed the insert inside the card. Viola, a homemade Mother’s Day card.
The Best Mother’s Day Ideas: Make or Buy a Cake
We usually bake from scratch with Dylan and Keira. They love using the Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer and helping us make desserts for the holidays. Since it was just the two of us plus mom and dad, we decided to get a festive Mother’s Day cake from Eataly.
We visit Eataly every season, and they have the best seasonal food, cocktails, desserts and ingredients. Dining at Eataly’s restaurants is also spectacular. We usually go to Eataly Flatiron, but we are also going to check out Eataly Downtown next week. They have a partnership with Color Factory, and we are excited to see the colorful collaboration. For our cake, we went with a strawberry shortcake with a giant heart Mom cookie.
The Best Mother’s Day Ideas: Rosé
We completed our easy Mother’s Day dinner with Marcel Rosé. We tried this wine for the first time at Rosé Mansion. We loved it so much that we partnered with Marcel on a virtual happy hour last summer. This off-dry rosé wine has a crisp and well balanced taste profile. The wine also has notes of peach and subtle aromas of lychee and elderflower. We raised a glass of Rosé to toast Mom on Mother’s Day.
These are just some of the best mother’s day ideas. If you can’t be with mom in person, you can also celebrate with a virtual Mother’s Day happy hour. You can still make a Mother’s Day card and mail it. You can order a Mother’s Day cake and wine and have it shipped too. This year, be creative
All that I am, or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel mother.

I always send a card for my mom for Mom’s Day as I am far away from her and can’t be with her. She loves them!
