Feeling lucky? It might not be easy to be green on March 17th. Lucky for you, we put together the best St. Paddy’s Day party ideas for 2021. We’re ready to shamrock and roll! This year, many Irish pubs are closed and bar crawls / parades are cancelled. Don’t let that put a damper on your St. Paddy’s Day celebrations. Let’s get to the best St. Paddy’s Day party ideas.
Best St. Paddy’s Day Party Ideas During Coronavirus
We usually spend St. Paddy’s Day skiing in Deer Valley. This time last year, New York City shut down for the first time in our lives because of Covid-19. Since we didn’t celebrate St. Paddy’s last year, we decided to double up on the luck of the Irish this year.
We hosted a small St. Paddy’s Day dinner at home with Dylan and Keira. They are half Irish, and we wanted to celebrate their Irish heritage. We recommend limiting St. Paddy’s Day celebrations at home to just family. Alternatively you can organize a small St. Paddy’s Day party outside with a few friends. Don’t worry, beer happy. With our tips, you’ll get the guide on some of the best St. Paddy’s Day party ideas.
Best St. Paddy’s Day Party Ideas: How to Style a Tablescape?
Irish I may, Irish I might. We brought the Emerald Isle culture home with some of the best St. Paddy’s Day party ideas. We selected a gold, Kelly green and white color palette. We framed our table with Feeling Lucky? gold letter balloons. Letter balloons make tablescapes three-dimensional. The party planning hack here is Command Hooks. You can use them for your balloon garlands and remove them after the party without damaging your walls. We used an air pump to fill these balloons and strung them up with gold string. Make sure to tape the bottom of the letters too to hide any balloon tails.
We also had two special guests attend the party, Lucky the Leprechaun and a jumbo Shamrock. The kids will love this 22″ seated Leprechaun balloon 29″ Shamrock balloon. They can be air-filled or helium filled.
Next we dressed the table with a gold tablecloth, gold charger plates and a Kelly green table runner and Kelly Green napkins. We also scattered gold coins as well as green and gold beads on the table.
Our floral arrangement featured beautiful white roses and baby’s breath. We usually go to a florist for our floral arrangements. The trick is to bring your own vase and give them your budget. If you don’t have a florist or are short on time, then go to Whole Foods and check out their flower shop. We also recommend low vases for dinner parties. This way, everyone can see each other when seated. When we get large, high vases, the flowers are beautiful but we often move them off the table once we are seated. We also placed a gold Kiss Me sign in front of the white flowers.
Best St. Paddy’s Day Party Ideas: What Food to Serve?
Shamrocks and shenanigans for all! We created a St. Paddy’s Day charcuterie board. We used shamrock cookie cutters to cut the Brie and sliced cheddar. Next we added shamrock cupcake toppers and gold coins to mini cupcakes. We usually bake cupcakes from scratch, but this time we bought cupcakes from Whole Foods and just decorated them. Next we added crackers, dried apricots, kiwis, nuts and shamrock and leprechaun sugar cookies. Dylan and Keira couldn’t wait to dig into the St. Paddy’s Day charcuterie board. You can pair this charcuterie board with your favorite beer, wine or cocktails (or mocktails if you are celebrating with kids).
