Let’s raise a glass and toast to the last day of skiing in Deer Valley. We hit the slopes over spring break to enjoy the fresh powder, bluebird skies, Après Ski and fine dining. We are excited to share our spring ski adventures with you.
We stayed at Silver Baron Lodge (SBL). This rustic lodge is conveniently located at the base of Bald Eagle Mountain and a quick 10 minute drive into Main Street in Park City. For more on SBL, please check out this post. We also hosted Twinspirational Après Ski parties at Silver Baron Lodge over the holidays.
Mid-march is one of the busiest times of the year because of spring break vacations. The days are longer, the weather is warm, the sun is out and the sky is blue. As a bonus this year, an unbelievable amount of fresh powder hit the area. We’ve skied in mid-March for the past three years, and this year was by far the best skiing conditions.
We recommend starting the day early, and getting to the mountain as soon as possible. The snow is generally the best in the morning and early afternoon. In the late afternoon, the snow can become slushy. We sported our stylish Sweaty Betty skiwear while skiing with our black diamond instructors, Dylan and Keira.
Snow bunnies, you don’t have to leave the mountain for your dining needs. Deer Valley has several lodges on the mountain that are perfect for breakfast, lunch or dinner. These rustic lodges serve causal breakfast and lunch buffets. For lunch, we grabbed quick bites at the Silver Lake Lodge, Empire Canyon Lodge and Royal Street Cafe. Royal Street Cafe is a traditional sit-down restaurant, next to Silver Lake Lodge.
In the evening, the lodges are transformed into fine dining establishments. On this trip, we dined at Fireside at Empire Canyon Lodge.
Fireside offers a one of a kind experience by cooking a four-course meal from the stone fireplaces located around the restaurant. We started with a charcuterie platter and raclette, followed by lamb, trout and pasta. We concluded our scrumptious meal with chocolate fondue. Corkage fees are quite reasonable, so we recommend bringing a bottle or two of your favorite wine. Horse-drawn sleigh rides are available before dinner. For more on dining in Deer Valley, check out this post.
After our ski adventures, we treated ourselves with sweets from Java Cow, a local dessert cafe in the heart of Main Street in Park City. They serve a large assortment of house-made, all natural ice cream flavors. We love their waffle cones. They also have fantastic crepes and waffles. The calories don’t count on vacation, right?
During Après Ski, we roasted marshmallows in the fire pit and made s’mores. These gooey, chocolatey treats were the perfect snack after a long day on the mountain.
We had an amazing ski spring break, and can’t wait for next season.

What a fun trip! It has been such a long time since I’ve gone up to the mountain to ski or play in the snow, this made me reminisce of my childhood when we’d make frequent trips to snowy mountain locations! Thank you for sharing!
The trip looks really fun and the review of everything is really good.
Your post has inspired me to do a ski tour in the future travel plan. I always wanted to learn skiing and hope to spend a few days in the ski resort to pick up skiing. The hat of the little girl looks super cute. Love how colorful it is.
Eat, drink and spring ski. Wow! Enjoying to the fullest with family. Love all sweet pics.

I haven’t gone skiing since childhood. This makes me want to get out on some icy spring mountains and shred up a sunny day! Especially when there’s hearty meals and sweets afterwards! So fun!
