New York City is one of the most EXCITING cities to have a bachelorette party. With some of the BEST dining, nightlife and entertainment options at your fingertips, you’ll be sure to have an AMAZING evening! Our good friend Elaine was getting married in the beautiful island of Santorini and asked us to provide some TWINSPIRATION for her bachelorette party. She wanted an elegant, beautiful party and we thought a “Partying with the Goddesses” theme would be PERFECT.
As you probably know by now, we LOVE theme parties! A theme allows you to add special elements to make your event more memorable for both the guest of honor and the attendees. We wanted this party to be sophisticated, so we skipped the togas and suggested Goddess inspired attire. Ladies wore ethereal white dresses and gold laurel crowns. The gentlemen looked heavenly with their gold wreath crowns. Did you know that laurel wreaths were awarded to victors in athletic competitions and poetic meets in ancient Greece?
A few simple accessories are all you need to dress up for a bachelorette party. In order to differentiate the bride to be from the rest of her goddesses, we adorned Elaine with a satin sash. Elaine looked stunning in her toga inspired one strapped dress, silver crown and pink bachelorette sash.
We began the evening with champagne at home. After the champagne toast, we headed to dinner at our favorite Greek restaurant, Periyali. We highly recommend Periyali for large groups. We reserved a large semi-private table in the back of the restaurant. We began dinner with a second champagne toast, compliments of Elaine’s partner, Darlene. Then we dined on a mix of:
- Appetizers: Beet Salad, Grilled Octopus, Greek Salad, Greek Meatballs, Split Pea Hummus
- Mains: Moussaka, Chicken Kabobs, Salmon
- Dessert: Assorted Greek Cookies
After dinner, we played Bridal Bingo! Kanchana was the lucky winner. We had a fabulous time celebrating Elaine and can’t wait to celebrate with her on the big day. We hope this post shows how incredibly easy it is to plan a creative bachelorette party.
