A trip to Nantucket isn’t complete without a visit to Galley Beach. This upscale restaurant offers diners superb food in a stunning location with chic ambiance and excellent service. I stopped by the restaurant for brunch and I’m excited to share my dining experience with you.
Galley Beach is owned and operated by the Silva Family. The restaurant began as a clam shack on Cliffside Beach in 1958 and has evolved into a premier restaurant in Nantucket. Galley Beach serves lunch, brunch and dinner in an open-air dining room that overlooks colorful beach umbrellas. With its extensive wine and cocktail list, Galley Beach is the perfect place for a sunset cocktail or late night drink on the beach.
Executive Chef W. Scott Osif showcases fresh ingredients from land and sea in his menus. His dishes range from simple and delicious to complex combinations of flavor and texture.
Rachael and I started our meal with a glass of refreshing Rosé.
For the first course, we shared the jumbo lump crab cake. The crab cake was light and flaky and well balanced with the cucumber, tomato and mint salad and champagne blanc beurre.
For the second course, we shared Eggs Benedict and a Lobster Roll. The eggs were perfectly poached and decadent with the creamy hollandaise sauce.
The lobster was sweet, succulent and absolutely delicious.
We finished our meal with a chocolate brownie with salted caramel and vanilla ice cream.
I highly recommend visiting Galley Beach for brunch, lunch, dinner or even a cocktail on your next trip to the Grey Lady.
For me, brunch is such a versatile meal since you can play on both the sweet and savory in your dishes — Marcus Samuelsson

That lobster roll looks so delicious, I would like to try it. I wish I could eat crab, as that dish looks amazing, but unfortunately I’m allergic to it.
