Calling all DIY-ers! Do you love to craft, but hate to cut? If you are a perfectionist like us, then you know the challenges associated with cutting perfectly symmetrical shapes or objects with intricate details. We partnered with Cricut to create a chic Friendsgiving banner. We designed our project with Cricut Design Space and used the Cricut Explore Air 2 to effortlessly cut the banner. We are excited to share the process with you.

First up is the supplies! You’ll need a mat, cardstock, Cricut tools, glue and string. We also recommend Cricut Access Premium to get access to hundreds of beautiful fonts, hundreds of thousands of premium Cricut images and discounts on other purchases. The Basic Tool Set helps remove letters or images from the mat.

We started with an easy project since this was our first time using the Cricut Explore Air 2. We layered a single color banner on top of our multi-color paper garland backdrop. This machine cuts light and heavy cardstock, bonded fabric, poster board, paper and vinyl. There’s also a custom smart dial so you can select the material to get a precision cut.

We designed the banner on Cricut Design Space and then placed chocolate glitter cardstock into the Cricut Explore Air 2. There’s also a mobile App so you can design on the go and send the project wirelessly to the Cricut Explore Air 2.

We used the Basic Tool Set to carefully remove the letters from the mat.

There’s no need for a hole puncher because you can design small holes in the banner with the Cricut Explore Air 2. Then string the banner, hang it up and viola! You have the perfect Friendsgiving backdrop. P.S. paper garland banners are great for pops of color and they collapse neatly and can be stored easily.

We now have the perfect tablescape for our Friendsgiving. We highly recommend the Cricut Explore Air 2. It is a high quality cutting machine, and with some creativity and patience, you can create many amazing intricate projects effortlessly.

It takes half your life before you discover life is a do-it-yourself project.
