There’s nothing better than a refreshing beverage to cool us down on a warm, spring day. When we were children, our favorite drink to order at an Indian restaurant was a Mango Lassi. This chilled Indian beverage combines creamy yogurt with sweet mango. We partnered with Alove aloe vera yogurt to create a new, refreshing version of the traditional Mango Lassi. We are excited to share our Ready, Set, Mango Lassi recipe with you.
Alove is the first spoonable aloe vera yogurt in the United States. This silky, delicious yogurt is made from the succulent inner parts of the aloe vera leaf. This yogurt is available in 6 flavors and contains no high fructose corn syrup or artificial flavors. This yogurt is perfect in a Mango Lassi. You can also create your own Alove aloe vera yogurt bar for a tasty brunch at home.
We sampled the original, strawberry, peach and vanilla varieties. You can use the store locator on Alove’s website to find a store that carries this yummy yogurt.
We were excited to recreate our favorite childhood beverage at home. Mango season runs all year long in the United States, but specific varieties of mangoes are only available for certain months of the year. The type of Mango that you use will affect the sweetness and tartness of your Mango Lassi. You can read more about mangoes here. Mango Lassi is thinner than a typical smoothie due to the addition of milk. Cardamom gives the Lassi an earthy, spiced twist.
This recipe serves two. For parties, you can make a batch or two early and refrigerate for up to 24 hours. Just wait to garnish until you are ready to serve.
Mango Lassi

We recommend you try the Mango Lassi as a breakfast smoothie, a beverage paired with Chicken Vindaloo or as a delicious dessert! If you use the Alove original yogurt as a base, you can mix it up with any of your favorite fruit and create your own Lassi.
