Happy Father’s Day to our amazing father! We celebrated the holiday with our parents at Tandoor Oven. This restaurant features a modern approach to Indian cuisine. We are excited to share our Father’s Day with you.
We started our celebration with a special Father’s Day toast. We sipped Gloria Ferrer’s Blanc de Blanc sparkling wine.
The festivities continued at Tandoor Oven by Bhog. This Indian restaurant is located in the Upper East Side and offers Indian dining at its best. This restaurant is run by the duo that catered our father’s 70th Bollywood Disco birthday party.
We started our meal with chicken samosas. We usually order vegetarian samosas, but we decided to switch it up and order the non-veg ones. This savory pastry filled with ground chicken was divine when drizzled with sweet date sauce. We also recommend the spicy Manchurian shrimp. Our last appetizer was the Kashmiri Lamb Chops with yogurt sauce. If don’t eat meat, we recommend the traditional vegetarian samosas and cauliflower Manchurian. We paired our appetizers with a Pinot Noir. The restaurant has an inexpensive corkage fee, so grab your favorite Pinot or Riesling and bring it with you to the restaurant.
For the entrees, we ordered Butter Chicken, Chicken Chettinad, Baingan Bharta with Biryani and Garlic Naan as accompaniments. Indian food is meant to be eaten family style and mixed together. Every bite was so scrumptious and spicy.
We concluded our meal with our favorite Indian dessert, gulab jamun. One small bite of this dried milk pastry in a honey, saffron and cardamom syrup is the perfect way to conclude an Indian meal.
Thanks to the great staff at Tandoor Oven for helping us celebrate Father’s Day.
