Rise and glide because ski season is here. A fabulous ski vacation is not only about life on the slopes, but also about the fun off the mountain. Après Ski means “after ski” in French, and refers to the social activities and entertainment after a day on the slopes. We worked with Deer Valley Resort and Silver Baron Lodge to twinspire two fabulous après ski soirées. We are excited to share our Après Ski with you.
Skiing is an individual sport, but it can also be a social activity. You ride the chairlift with friends, family or even strangers. You may diverge to explore different parts of the mountain, but at the end of the day everyone gathers for an après ski treat or drink. Après ski takes place in the late afternoon after skiing but before dinner. It may seem unusual to start the party before the sun goes down. However most skiers want to hit the slopes first thing next morning and nightlife can end early.
The Venue.
We hosted our après ski soirées at Silver Baron Lodge (SBL) from 4:00PM – 5:30PM. SBL is a rustic lodge that is conveniently located at the base of Deer Valley mountain.
We have stayed at SBL many times, and you can learn more about SBL here.
The Invitation
We invited guests to a 90 minute Twinspirational après ski fete that began at 4:00PM.
Our après ski party featured whimsical ski décor, scrumptious bites, delicious libations and a picture perfect photobooth.
The Décor.
Our color palette featured Deer Valley’s signature colors: hunter green, gold, birch, charcoal and silver. Paperramma custom created our gorgeous mountainous backdrop. We placed winter balloons and winter props at the Photo Booth. We decked the lounge chairs with adorable ski themed pillows and cushions so that guests could unwind after a long day on the slopes. We rounded out the decor with framed printables of whimsical ski expressions.
The Menu.
Since après ski precedes dinner, we served a delicious spread of cheese, cured meats, fruit, chips and dips.
The Sweet Treats.
For dessert, we served guests signature goodies from Deer Valley Bakery. On the first night, we featured Deer Valley’s Chocolate Snowballs and Pomegranate Gelees. On the second night, we served Stein’s Marzipan Cake and assorted gourmet cookies.
The Drinks.
We wanted guests to be able to relax after a long day of skiing. We served hot chocolate, sparkling water, soft drinks as well as red and white wine.
The Attire.
Anything goes with respect to attire at Après Ski. Some guests were dressed for dinner. The majority of guests sported what they wore on the slopes, which included base layers, ski pants, ski jackets, sweaters, ski boots, hats and googles.
The Photo Booth.
We created a festive Photo Booth with Paperramma’s mountainous backdrop, bunny ears, lots of and props by Big Dot of Happiness. It was love at frost sight for our guests, especially the little ones who loved the balloons and bunny ears.
Special thanks to Emily and Abby of Deer Valley Resort, Mary Ann and her fabulous team at the Silver Baron and our adorable twinterns, Dylan and Keira, for all of their help.
Head on over to Deer Valley. After your skis are away, toast your snow-filled adventures with some fabulous après-ski. See you on the mountain, where we’ll be up to snow good.

I would love to learn how to ski just to enjoy the after ski experiences, such as the cute party you have organised and the pretty chalets every ski resort has. You have definitely thought about every single detail in this apre ski get together.
