Best Winter Rooftops in NYC: Eataly Flatiron
What happens on the rooftop stays on the rooftop. Eataly is located in the Flatiron District on 5th Ave and 23rd Street. Eataly Flatiron celebrates the change in weather by adorning its rooftop with chic, seasonal decor. In the past, we saw Eataly transform into a pink paradise, a coral greenhouse and a giant paper flower garden in the spring/summer, a color-fall sanctuary and a honey and harvest beehive in the fall and an alpine wonderland in the winter.
Snow what? This season, the rooftop transports you to a cozy Italian winter in the countryside filled with with twinkling lanterns, festive greenery, seasonal fare and delicious cocktails. The magical festive details at SERRA keep us coming back season after season. Eataly is open daily from 11:30AM to 9:30PM. Brunch is available from 10AM to 4PM on the weekends.
Best Winter Rooftops in NYC: What to Order to Drink?
Vodka time is it? Eataly has have a robust selection of winter cocktails to keep you warm on those chilly nights. We started with the Mora Frizzante and Ananas Affumicata. Our favorite was the Mora Frizzante. This cocktail is an unbelievable blend of vodka, Amaro Nonino, Lurisia Gazzosa Sparkling Lemon, blackberries, vanilla, lemon and mint.
If you are more of a mezcal person, then you’ll love the Ananas Affumicata. This cocktail is prepared with Glep Bitter Rosso Spinto Liqueur, Mezcal, Calabrian Chile-Infused honey and pineapple. These cocktails were the perfect way to start our dinner at Eataly, one of the best winter rooftops in NYC.
And of course, no Italian meal is complete without wine. The wine list at Eataly Flatiron is extensive and perfect for any palate. We ordered a glass of Barbaresco with our entrees.
Best Winter Rooftops in NYC: What to Order for Dinner?
Stay toasty this winter. This Italian food mecca offers seasonal menus that will tantalize your taste buds. This winter, the Chefs celebrate the Italian countryside with traditional dishes dating back to the 13th century.
I’m so fondue of you. We started with the Fonduta Valdostana, with Fontina, crispy potatoes, roasted carrots and housemade otto bread. It also comes with raven and boar farm sausage (but we skipped the meat on this course).
Dip me baby one more time. Fondue is a perfect appetizer to kick off a winter dinner. This cheese is exquisite, the accompaniments were delicious and the cocktails paired perfectly. This fondue is our favorite in NYC right now. It’s made with Fontina, heavy cream and egg. Definitely order it ASAP!
Rice to meet you. Our next course included Arancini. These crispy Carnaroli rice balls with peas, housemade mozzarella, and saffron are one of our favorites. We probably order this appetizer every time we are at Eataly.
Our pasta course was Ravioli di Zucca with butternut squash, brown butter, nutmeg, parmesan and sage. This pasta is rich, decadent and will make your taste buds happy.
Our favorite main was the Agnello con Polenta. This braised lamb shoulder was perfectly cooked and served with wild hive polenta and roasted carrots. We also shared the Sedano Rapa, which is grilled celery root with cashew puree, trumpet mushrooms and Urbani winter black truffle. If you are a carnivore, go with the lamb. It was so good! The Barbaresco paired perfectly with these dishes.

I love Eataly! I ate there when I visited NYC a few years ago and it was the best. I need to go back.
These roof top spots in NYC loks awesome and like the perfect spots to hang with friends and family! We have not been into the city in forever…. except for my husband as he works there from time to time. We may just have to chnage that and hit some of these spots!
I love the use of the little lights in the decorations! What lovely spots to hold events, too.
